PocketSNES works at quite a good stable FPS, although some of the sounds in some games sound like a fuzz whenever they are activated, like a jump or getting something.

Yeah. It'll be very nice once the fuzz and pops get fixed.

Though if you want to experience a very weird issue with PocketSNES try Seiken Densetsu 3. Picture is great but my god the cursor audio! Lol

Has anyone tried Street Fighter: 3rd Strike using the latest build of FBA? Sorry I keep asking, (I'm crazy about that game) don't have anyway to access homebrew currently.

I downloaded a build a few days ago and the .cia build of gpsp keeps crashing. Does anybody know the latest working .cia?

And should I be using the dsp driver or csnd?

Yes I did that. Updated my Ironhax payloads and now the retroarch stuff loads to a black screen. I'm asking if there is a fix for this or do I just need to be patient?
oh, sorry my bad !
I have no experience with 10.3, being on n3DS with cia.

not sure if anyone can chime in..ppl with o3ds and emunand maybe?

can you still run other homebrew? maybe ask smea on twitter ?

@aliaspider ?

Recently updated from 10.2 -> 10.3 as an Ironhax user on O3DS. Do I just need to get the most recent build of QuickNES etc from the Nightly to get them to work again? Now they load onto a black screen. Previously working on 10.2/2.5
I use Ironhax and updated to 10.3 and I have no issues with the emu's I've tried (using current nightlies).
Before updating to 10.3 (ie. while still on 10.2) I re-ran the newest Ironhax installer and installed the payload for 10.3. I then updated my fw to 10.3 and the newly installed payload works fine with all homebrew I've used so far.
You'll know if you've installed the correct Ironhax payload from the date displayed when you launch the ironhax save file - it should show as 2015-11-09.

Too much red but nice topic so good job. My question on the latest build of catsfc is it improved for kernel users?

So... I've been messing around with mGBA Libtreo and found a Solar Sensor setting.

This immediately brought to mind BOKTAI

Went to try it and to my disappointment Boktai did not work...

But wait, that left Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django. That game does work albeit at half frames. But if you disable sound and turn of Vsync you get a solid 45-50 frames on a N3DS.

Well I tried to solar sensor and to my dismay there was nothing. So I turned it up and still nothing. I turned it up on 10(MAX) and got 3 bars on the solar sensor!!!

This game is officially playable!!!!

EDIT: My copy of Boktai was corrupted due to modded rom (see note below). Got a new copy and it works same as Boktai 2.

EDIT2: Boktai sun sensor works better than Boktai 2 sun sensor.

Note: Don't get lost in paradise, Get down and do the hustle. And don't have [Eurasia]'s or [Rising Sun]'s copy.

EDIT: nvm, had to reboot after updating payload.

Is the buildbot site down for anyone else? I get a 502 error.

Site is back. Gonna try one of those builds.
Edit: didn't work.

Also, I tried the build @aliaspider provided, but I get an error upon running the emus which tells me I have an unsupported version and should update my payload (I did this just now to make sure and it didn't work).

I'm on 10.1 US, hax 2.5.

video filters can now be used.

currently, to select one, you need to go to "Settings" --> "Video" --> "Video Filter" and select a ".filt" file, those files are available in the latest nightly archive in retroarch/filters/ .
I would recommend just copying the "retroarch" folder from the archive to the root of your SD-card, and then setting the "Video Filter Dir" (in "Settings" --> "Directory") to "sdmc:/retroarch/filters", that way you can get the available filters listed directly from the "Video Filter" option.
to disable a filter, just press "start" when the "Video Filter" entry is selected. ( "start" is the default hotkey for setting back any config value to the default one).

and as @Steveice10 already pointed out, those filters are quite CPU intensive, so expect a huge performance penalty when using them, and also, don't expect much from them due to the very low resolution of the 3DS screens. (the accessible resolution at least, things would become far more interesting if the full 800x240 resolution of the top screen ever became accessible).

also, I didn't test all of them, so some might not work correctly/at all with some cores.

Here's a list of the filters in case anyone is curious:
  • 2xBR
  • 2xSal
  • Composite
  • RF
  • RGB
  • S-Video
  • Darken
  • EPX
  • LQ2x
  • Phosphor2x
  • Scale2x
  • Super2xSal
  • SuperEagle

Tested the new filters on o3DS 10.3 Ironhax, and they work as expected. If any other o3DS users are curious, the least-intensive filters are Darken, LQ2x, and EPX. Performance, of course, varies between the cores.

Are the filters only a 3DS thing or have they been implemented in the Wii version as well?

they have been implemented in retroarch for quite some time, they were just not accessible for console ports, so I assume the Wii version didn't have them either.
you could try the newest Wii nightly and see if they now work, the .filt files are the same, so you can just use the ones from the 3DS archive.
