Retroarch on the 3DS always crashes! How can I fix it? (I have asked 4 times now.)

Which steps did you take to install retroarch?

To me it looks like you only installed 'retroarch_3ds.cia'. Which does nothing on it's own. (as shown in your video)
The actual cores are included in the 'retroarch/cores' folder. Did you copy that as-well?

It really isn't that difficult; https://docs.libretro.com/guides/install-3ds2ds/

With the newer versions of retroarch if i load retroarch through a cia and then try to load retroarch through the homebrew launcher it crashes and i have to delete the retroarch salamander.cfg in order for it to load games from the homebrew launcher it sucks because i have to use either the cia or sdsx not both. So try deleting retroarch.cfg and salamander.cfg in the retroarch folder on your sd card.

Oh, so without any of the cores, it won't run. But where do I even get cores?

Retroarch gets its cores in the package, in the cores folder just click and instal, i would say to put the cores you dont use in a notused folder, dont use the universal updater for retroarch, i use the nightlys, also u need bios, just type bios pack google and bobs your grandmother

Honestly, RetroArch isn't that reliable for the 3DS systems (or at least it isn't for my 2DS), I would recommend searching for another emulator if these issues continue after trying what others are suggesting.

I tried both versions of Retroarch. And even downloaded all the cores that I needed. However, both versions of Retroarch, the 3dsx and cia, both crash on my new 3ds xl.
Have tried both for a long while now and 3dsx running thru homebrew channel is the better way to go for sure.
If you try to use a core that causes it to crash (mame2003_plus always does that for me) it gets stuck, upon each load of retroarch it will just crash trying to load the broken core.
Only fix I've found is to delete the retroarch.cfg file, start again and avoid the cores that cause problems. I keep a backup of retroarch.cfg now so that I don't have to re-apply all my preferences and settings.

On my first time using Retroarch, I had this same problem. The reason why it didn't work for me originally was because the retroarch folder wasn't saved to the root of my sd card, but rather a folder called 3ds2dsps1aio. (I was following this tutorial; )

Did you put your retro arch folder in the root of the sd card?

I'm late but people saying it's your SD card or missing cores it's not that ( if you have the cores). I reinstalled this lil sh** three times already, followed every step right ( all my HB apps work without any crashes ), and retroarch just cant work on my 3ds, got everything right, when I load a game crashes, when I try to put a cheat crash again, sometimes just to open another crash, its totally unstable, I dont know how people play on it, my best workaround was to put the psx games directly on homescreen, that way retroarch works on a simple UI ( you cant acess cheats and other things) but the game runs smoothly.

It's because the devs removed the cog in the backend so that it doesnt work due to nintendo suing citra and winning. Or something similar, it works on nvidia and intel only, but not amd.

Definitely stick with nightlies. RA stable releases are never actually stable on anything except PCs running Windows or Linux, IME. On bespoke platforms like the 3DS, stable is busted more often than not.

I say this as someone who's been using RA primarily on the 3DS, Wii, and PS2. Nightlies or bust. Even then, shit just breaks sometimes. I upgrade maybe once or twice a year. But it's more likely to work on these platforms versus trying to run "stable" versions and upgrading between those.

Keep the cores you use in the cores folder (sdmc:/retroarch/cores). Move the ones you don't into another folder. Then to save yourself time, open FBI, navigate to the cores folder, and install (DON'T delete) those cias. That way RA doesn't waste time installing them when you launch games, and it doesn't waste further time probing the many cores you don't use. Console SD access is very slow on 3DS, so those 2 things help a lot.
