Hello,
I backup my mh4u save with savedatafiler. It was exported to "sdmc:/filer/UserSaveData/YYYYMMDD(Hour)(Minute)(Second)". But then i renamed the folder "YYYYMMDD" to "MH4USAVE". So now when i try to restore my save i get an error.
I did a test:
-backup a save, change the name of the folder -> error
-chnage the name to the original -> it works

So i renamed "MH4USAVE" to "YYYYMMDD(Hour)(Minute)(Second)" (with the date of creation of files in the folder").
But it didnt work.

What can be done ?

take all of the files out of the [titleIDlow] folder and drop them inside a recently exported valid save. Backup everything before doing this in case you screw up again.

Don't rename stuff, things are the way they are for a reason.
If you want to label things, add a text doc that describes what you want but don't change existing files.
ex MH4USAVE.txt beside the YYYYMMDD(Hour)(Minute)(Second) folder.

Ok i found the solution:
A save folder contains :
- folder 00001261
- 00001261.dat
- 00001261_.dat

The folder contains the data of the save and the dat files seem to be just "info" for sdf. If the .dat files dont match with the name of the folder (YYYYMMDD(Hour)(Minute)(Second) ) then you will get an error. So i just made a new save, replaced 00001261 fodler with the old one and it worked.

Do you think you'd be able to edit the info from the .dat file, to be the name of the folder after renaming it? It would be really cool to be able to name your saves, as long as you also edit the .dat file's info to match it. I'd edit all my saves if I found that this works.

Question since the thread is fairly new and I didn't think making a new one was necessary: is it possible to transfer an AC:NL CIA save from an O3DS to a N3DS using SDF? I've tried in the past, even after deleting the secure value of the title before importing the save, but I'm still getting the error that pops up when you start the game regarding the save existing elsewhere. I was able to get my SSB4 save to work on my N3DS, so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.
