I commented on NA's most recent video

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Read the 2017 update; he found a guy with a player, but it turns out the reels he had were just screen calibration units
Hmm... Well I'll try to see if there are any other reels pertaining to it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Aren't those even rarer?

Logically they would be

BIG NEWS! Or, maybe not news, but an update. I got a reply from Nintendo Arcade's latest video.
I asked:
"A question about the earlier Nintendo arcade games; have you considered scanning film reels of the few 16mm cabs? There's a community with a goal to preserve those games, and the film reels are quite scarce"

And he responded with:
"...battle shark has already been digitalised..."

So we can check that off the list.

Are you referring to Duck Hunt or is there another home projection game I'm unaware of?
Basically, the "mini" version would theoretically be easier to come by, since it wasn't projected across a large space (the original Laser Clay Shooting System was projected on a wall at bowling alleys). Instead, the "mini" version is projected in a small arcade cabinet.

Oh, I get what you're talking about now. Yeah, I've heard of the Laser Clay Pigeon Mini cabinets, but haven't ever seen pictures of them so I guess I just assumed that it evolved into Wild Gunman or Shooting Trainer lol

You aren't totally wrong. They definitely evolved into various other "light gun shooter" games, which then turned into more modern shooter arcade games in the 80s.

I'll be able to be more active and post a lot more information tonight in about seven hours

Big News! This thread is going to be linked in an article on a Video Game Preservation website! Larsenv linked me to a Discord server, and I told them about this project, and we now have some new members helping us out big time! Right now, we're trying to get raw scans from gregf.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And here are some videos:

Wild Gunman

Battle Shark

Laser Clay Shooting System

EVR Race

(This is new!)

Can’t find anything for Shooting Trainer, New Shooting Trainer, or Test Driver
