Ok, so here's a simple noob question. I just updated luma to the latest stable build, and to be able to access eshop, like they said I could, I decided to update to 11.4 version eur 3ds firmware.
Now, none of my cia work, after going to the eshop, and I can't open godmode anymore, which makes me unable to restore my nand. If someone could tell me a way to restore nand, or make luma work again, NOTE: I do not have another 3ds, nor does anyone in my town have one, that I know of.
So, I really would like to know how to restore my nand. Once again, seemed to be going smoothly, though I first went ahead to check if godmode worked, then the system version then luma updater then onto the eshop after which Luma stopped working

can you refer me to a guide for properly hardmodding the 3ds, and tell me the risks? Mine is an old 3ds

The risks involve bricking your console beyond recovery, and it is very likely unless you have a lot of experience soldering.

Or here is a list of people who can do it for you for money https://gbatemp.net/threads/list-of-hardmod-installers-by-region.414224/

Oh, soldering huh? Guess I'll skip out on that then. what sort of ds flashcard would be required for the other method?

We don't know yet. The dev is going to release it when he has gotten a number of different brands to work, so that no one flashcart gets a big spike in value.

So to confirm, there is no other method to restore nand? Because that is literally all I need
And I have a backup

Last edited by Bgreymane,
where can I follow this flashcard, news that is?

If you have a second hacked console, you could also follow the DSiWare hax guide, but restore the backup instead of continuing on (though you should just continue on - you must have had only menuhax or something for your CFW to be removed by updating).

Sadly I don't have a second console. I highly doubt I'll find one either. But the reason for it to be deleted is probably because I just transferredto boot9strap from al9h
I probably missed something

Oops, hold Select when booting*

Hardmod, or wait for the upcoming sleephax, which will require a certain DS flashcart and a way to flash it.
It's called ntrboothax. Not magnethax. Not sleephax. Get it right :P

AceKard 2i will almost certainly be among the first flashcarts to support it.

Hardmod on o3ds if very easy. No need to even remove motherboard. Everything is topside when you remove the back cover...

Is it even possible to remove CFW just by updating? I feel like OP did something else that's more fixable.

You're thinking of the old XL, the small model is the hardest
(And I consider the 2DS easier, removing the motherboard is small hassle compared to the risk of desoldering something else near the pads on the old xl)

I did write that it worked. It stopped working once I went to the eshop however and attempted to download an app
As for the hardmod, I'm experienced at soldering, I just don't like to mess with perfectly working hardware, messing with that makes me feel kind of like adding insult to injury what with messing around with the software.
That and I have a luck status of: -5. I'm not even trying to be funny
