Hi, unfortunately before sending me a modified wii 4.2E (with ios 70 NOT patched), the guy formatted the wii in order to remove its settings... but this removed the HBC!
The wii has cIOS 249, had the hbc 1.0.6, and then he run the 4.2 Safe Firmware Updater.

    Any ideas?

    what?

reformatting will delete the settings and will render the custom IOS useless, AFAIK so it's a bad idea to reformat. WHy not restore your NAND back up from bootmii

ignore me if I didnt helped.

No. Using the format option from the System Menu doesn't erase any IOSes.

Post #1 tells me, that the update was way prior the format... so all cIOS might still be there. Get the hackmii installer and Bannerbomb and reinstall HBC anyway.
