ROM Hack [REQUEST] Make Triforce Heroes work with D-pad

So I'm not entirely sure how easy or hard this would be, but I'm going to throw it out there. My fiance is really bad at using the control stick to play games. Like, she can't walk in a straight line. So she would enjoy Triforce Heroes so much more if she could walk using the D-pad instead of the control stick. Would it be possible for anybody in the community to make it possible? Thank you!
