So I saw in a thread that someone said you could buy a motherboard on eBay and replace the banned mother board with the one you bought.

I was wondering is it that easy??
Something seems up?

Banned console
Replacement motherboard 15$
Switch out old MB
Fire it back up
Bam good to go?

Yep, it's most likely that easy.

Funny thing is that the mobo's (last time I checked) are cheap.

Well the motherboard would have to contain an unbanned certificate burned into it and the only way to obtain these are by stripping them from unbanned Switch units; it is not as simple as replacing the motherboard. I don't even know if eBay sells motherboards from Switch units, let alone ones that aren't banned.

Well, an unethical solution but guaranteed 100% working is to go buy a Nintendo Switch, then replace the new motherboard with the banned motherboard, then return the bought Nintendo Switch.

Haha I remember at blockbuster renting a game and switching out my PlayStation disc if it was scratched...

The modern day is going somewhere like Costco and just switching consoles out but it’s pretty immoral

THATS THE JOYCON MAINBOARD AND NOT THE SWITCH ONE THERE IS NO WAY THE SWITCHES MAINBOARD WITH NAND WILL SELL FOR SUCH A PRICE.

Example why would such a company sell for such a price ? the so called 15$ is the joycon mainboard. https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Game-Console/Nintendo-Switch-Motherboard/IF378-010-1

That is fraud,

You can’t even use your nand chip on a different system without having a nand back up from the new board to “restore” to your nand. I’ve tested this with two of my units for fun. You will get a black screen on boot.
