Use your switch mb, the new cable and a multimeter .
The colors in the picture coresponds to color on official cable , 2 red vcc, 2 gnd and one white cc witch will corespond to cc1 or cc2 depending how the plug is connected.

Hello there, I am about to make a big necrobump but seems no corner on the net have a schematics nor instructions on how to replace the usb connector of a original AC adapter for switch.

My sister's adapter got damaged last week and I started the quest for repair it instead of buying a new one. luckily the damage was the port de-attaching from the board so the original contacts can be see.

The adapter cable have three wires, red, black and white. Obviously red is VCC, Black GND and the white wire is connected directly to A5 (CC1) and on the board where only a 10 nf capacitor between VCC and GND (Is missing on the first pic)

I only had a generic 8 pins USB with VCC, GND, B10, B11, A2, A3, A6 & A7 contacts.

This connector have a 10 nf capacitor between VCC and GND and also a 56KΩ resistor between A5 and VCC for data and power. so in order to reproduce the original port, I removed the resistor and cuted the trace from resistor to VCC. this way I could weld the white wire to the A5 pin and now the AC adapter is working fine again.
