Hacking Replace bluray drive

Hi, I have a jailbroken fat ps3 but my bd drive is dead. How do I determine which drive I need to buy?
Also I've read that with cfw it's an easy task to marry a new drive to the ps3. Is this correct?

No it is not an easy task to remarry drive. You either need to convert your PS3 into DEX or get one of those jailbreak dongle. You need to downgrade either way.
