Hacking Question Repair lost capacitor on mainboard?

I have measured both capacitors (lost and one besides) with a multimeter and both have a value of:
1,185 nF

I concur. Im the dude that first put the trinket in the switch

Looks like a filter cap to me. Bridge it.

Yeah, just a filter cap. It's connecting to all of that ground plane. Should be fine if you just want to bridge the 2 points with a small piece of wire (or if you can make a solder blob big enough).

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to add some info for anyone who may have this problem. While fixing a coworkers switch (he lost this cap also) I noticed that if I bridged the pads together the switch would no longer charge. However, if I removed the bridge the switch would charge normally. His switch doesn't go into TV mode when placed in the dock but will charge in the dock still. I don't know if TV mode is related or if something else is wrong with the board, I just wanted to add that in there.

lol at people saying to bridge where a capacitor used to be...that's like the worst thing you can do for most filter caps, that's basically making a short circuit
