I think you mean M33-6.

It could well be the CFW, though. No idea.

Is the USB setting set to default?

When you plug it into a computer normally, it enters USB Mode and acts as a reader for the Memory Stick.

That works on my computer, but it doesn't seem to do on the PS3.

If it doesnt then when you plug it into your PS3 just go over to settings and choose USB Connection.

Doesn't work either. The PSP says it cannot find a host.

Did you hit the Remote Play button and then choose REGISTER or what ever? (I'm unable to check my PSP stuff atm because mine has a destroyed screen)

hey guys I was just coming on here for this same reason
I have a phat and just yesterday upgraded to gen d3 having to reinstall my stuff because of that and resync my ps3 and psp for remote play

I thought because of the bug that hit last night that was why I could not sync them. Now that thats fixed I tried it and it didn't work again so I thought it was gen d3 so I came here and found this thread and before I posted tried again

I have remote play running as I type this and turns out my problem was I was trying to connect through the internet it would not work. I switched to connect through private network and it works fine.

so try that register your device and then choose connect through private network.

I think the problem is that my PSP is generally not recognized by the PS3, independently from Remote Play. If you connect your PSP to your PS3 via USB, shouldn't the PSP be recognized as mass storage device?

no mine never is I use the sd card slot and a usb port with an external hd to play video and music everyday in fact I am right now and my psp never shows up as a storage device

No, your PS3 should recognize it as a PLAYSTATION PORTABLE on any of the menus. Try just pluggin in your PSP (without going to Remote Play) and choose USB connction on the PSP, it should show up on your PS3.

Tried that and it doesn't show up on the PS3 at all.

Then your issue is most likely with your cable. If your running GEN-D3 or M33-6 then it should show up on the PS3. IDK why it wouldn't.

Finally got it to work. The problem was my USB extension cable, which is strange because the same cable works perfectly fine with the PS3 controller (at least the recharching). Thank you all for your help

You really got this to work? I haven't tried to connect my psp (CFW 5.00 m33-6) because I assumed it wouldn't work. I'll have to try it out. I downloaded some little big planet dlc I like to try to transfer.
