I have a generic bluetooth pc controller, its called the g910. Games treat it as an xbox controller but the button mapping is way different. Is there a program that can switch the buttons around. I have tried programs like joy2key and xpadder that convert button pushes to keyboard buttons. This kind of works but when used it games that support xbox controllers it will do the keyboard push and uses the actual xbox button that i push and the game switches to xbox layout.

Also the reason im using this controller over others like wired xbox controller or wireless xbox controller is this one uses actual bluetooth and not some usb reciever. the tablet pc i am using has only one usb port and you cant charge and use a usb device at same time.

Yeah, this assumed 360-controller is pretty bullshit, and is one of the newer indications of how much console saturation is seeping into the PC gaming realm.

When I get into situations like this, there are usually two ways I get rid of the forced controls:

1) Find a way to disable gamepad recognition in the game altogether. Usually this falls under finding a ini file and setting a controller flag to false. For games where this is not an option, my disabled brother has had to use some directx input interception program that nulls out all expected gamepad input. In both cases I will continue to use joy2key to use my own button config.

2) I use x360ce which seems to magically remap whatever 360 inputs are expected to whatever gamepad I happen to have. I dunno exactly why it works, but it does, and I get the included benefit of rumble support, too (using a PS2 controller myself), for console ports that expect it.

That's my own experience with it.

Give x360ce a try, it's a 360 controller emulator that will allow you to convert most controller inputs to 360 inputs, you can customize button mapping with it and everything. Granted it might not support all controllers, so keep that in mind if it doesn't work.

You can download it here: https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

yeah i tried it, but i am not sure what folder to put it into for the game i am trying it with. I have it in the same folder as the exe of the program. I am trying it with steam version of dungeon defenders. it doesnt seem to make any change, the acts as if I am not using the x360ce

Did you run the x360ce program after putting it in the game's rootfolder?

yep and it grabbed controller info off internet, all the buttons work right except the triggers. (in the program its shown that im pushing the triggers when i am not) So it seems to be remapping correctly for the most part but it doesn't effect the game at all. I actually have a wired xbox360 controller that works fine with it but as i said earlier i cannot charge the tablet while using the controller, which is a slight annoyance. none of the usb hubs seems to let you bypass this limitation. luckily the bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse seems to work without any issues. I think the controller more designed for android, but it does say it works with pc as well.

There should be a way for you to rearrange the inputs in x360ce, to try and get the triggers working right for you :o Hopefully :x

Does the game not allow you to turn off gamepad input while using Joy2Key to prevent the button pressing problem?
