have Gateway said they're going to release a tool to create custom themes?
I say you just release it.
can you tell us about the half-brick thing, how do we recover from it and is there a way to prevent it or is it basically random.

he probably packs the theme into the emunand itself and then injects it into the SD card.

Nope, seems gateway forgot to patch some kind of check that prevents them from being installed.

As far as I know it does not work at the moment.

I wasn't even aware that there was a difference, or at least enough of one to departmentalize themes

Nah you can't install custom themes on any 3DS, Gateway doesn't allow it.

The guy might have edited the Home Menu's extended data or something.
