I get this error message when I try to download Non Non Biyori from manga reader:

Error: [string "?"]:896:404

Also, exiting the homebrew seems to load "boot.3dsx", which for me is my CTRBootManager, which doesn't happen on all homebrew so I guess there is a better way to go back tothe homebrew launcher?

EDIT: It's case sensative, nevermind!

Could you implement the ability to view the pages in a portrait orientation (hold the 3ds like a book)? Seems like it would feel a bit more natural.

Sorry, I can't.
It's not possible for me to show the image so it's rotated.

(If the image was already rotated in the file then that would be a different case, but I know everybody is too lazy to do that. And I don't blame them.)

I can't get this working. For some reason I always end up stucked with bot screen red. I've already checked file sizes, tried to download again, but still can't run it. And yes, I have latest menuhax and stuff.

Tried to download a manga with this, gave me an error and now I can't delete nor open the folder of that manga on Windows Explorer.

I had the same thing. Deleted it fine in ORGANIZ3D though, so no idea what the problem was.

I'll check that out. Not really a huge problem, it's just annoying to have an useless folder.

EDIT:
It worked  Huge thanks.
Uh...that's not supposed to happen. Strange how you couldn't delete the folder with windows explorer.

Did you ever get the manga downloading feature working though?

Although I'm fairly certain that the manga downloading feature works properly, if you can tell me the name of the one you tried then I can look into it.
Or you could try a few different ones and see if any work for you.

1.8.8.
Yay.

  • Manga deleting works now
  • You can now choose to start at the top left of the page. (Although I was too lazy to make it so that option is saved.
  • Will now inform you if you don't have internet connection when you try to download something?
  • Removed 3 second wait when you press exit
  • Probably a few other small things I've forgotten.

Never got it to work, always had the same problem.
I'm downloading manga from other sources though.

I tried Steins;Gate - Boukan No Rebellion [steinsgate-boukan-no-rebellion] and Inu Yasha [inu-yasha]
Same problem with both.

Wait....
Looks like I didn't fix the manga deleting feature.
...
Wait, I did.
But it doesn't delete the folders within the folder you're deleting.

Is it Inuyasha as one word? That's what a google search comes up with.
I probably should've made my tutorial a bit more clear, but you have to enter exactly what's at the end of the url.

So, enter
inuyasha

I just checked and you got the Steins;Gate one correct.
If you're 100% sure that you've entered the name correctly, check that you're connected to the internet.

Umm, hey! The 1.8.8 version works for me, thanks!
Just a detail, but I assume in that 1.8.8 zip, you have wrong file in /3DS/MangaReader, you put there *.3ds instead of *.3dsx file, which you have in root of the zip. Keep up the great work!

Glad you got it working.

And thanks for the heads up about the file, I just went and fixed that now.

Would this work as a book reader? I was thinking of converting the PDFs of books I have on my laptop into single JPEG pages and using this software. Or would it be simply too small to read?

It would work as long as the JPEG images are not too big. I would try converting a few pages first to see if it would work.

As for if it would be too small to read...
The 3ds' top screen resolution is 400x240.
Every one pixel in your image is one pixel on the screen. So I guess it would depend on how big the text is in your image.
I would assume it's not too small.
