That said, I gather that it's possible to check that a decrypted key is valid (as that titlekey site does), so if the app is expecting an encrypted key, it could potentially test whether the entered key was a valid decrypted one and display an appropriate error.
I mean, we could in both apps, but I don't see the point. It would add complexity to the install process and add more places things could go wrong. The apps are designed to work with encrypted keys, and should only be used with encrypted keys.

and, since none of our programs are hosting the keys themselves, we don't take responsibility for them being correct or incorrect.
we can only assume they are correct.
it's the person who hosts the titlekeysite to verify them, no need for us to do it again at a small annoyance/expense.

Strange question because maybe I am doing something wrong but why is it that whatever content I download using this program it lags? As if the game has issues on the system and anything else that I download elsewhere runs fine?

That's really weird. Never happened to me but, what do you exactly mean by "lag"?

Game runs slow and stutters. Almost like the system can't run it correctly. I updated my Luma3DS to the hourly build and it didn't fix it. I have it set to overclock and the game still runs like crap.

Tried with SNES Virtual console titles and The Binding of Issac Rebirth and they all lag/stutter/run slow whatever you want to call it.

Are you on the New 3DS or old 3DS?

New 3DS and it's literally only this program that downloads and installs the stuff for me that makes my games lag aka the ones it installs.
Binding of Isaac has issues on the 3DS in general. It wasn't properly optimized for the system. I dunno what would cause SNES VCs to run slow. Sometimes Luma's OC options can cause undesirable effects. Have you tried completely turning them off?

No, I hadn't tried turning them off as it's never caused an issue until now when I use this program but I can try sometime.

I tried turning off overclock and turning it back on and putting on L2 as well. Nothing has fixed it yet. Got it working now, thanks all.

I tried turning off overclock and turning it back on and putting on L2 as well. Nothing has fixed it yet. Can someone either quote me or pm me what URL they use for the Auto-update title keys? (not sure if that site is against the rules or w/e) trying to fix this asap.
Just scan the QR code on the site with freeShop.

I had tried but it just says Invalid Title Key format.
1) Open 3ds title keys site
2) Find where it says "Download encTitleKeys.bin". Should be above an orange button with a green square next to it.
3) Click on the green square to open the QR code for the encTitleKeys.bin file.
4) Open freeShop's settings and find the place to input the URL for the encTitleKeys.bin file. Somewhere to the very left of the screen is the QR code button. Tap it and scan the QR code that the 3ds title keys site gives you.
5) ???
6) Profit.

Yeah, I tried but it kept saying what I said above. I got it working though, thanks. :)

I wondered what would the titles I don't own, look in regular eshop.
Sun&moon demo seems downloaded but I'm afraid to look other games :D Maybe it would check some security checks?
Am I right?

No, the games don't do any security checks except for when you install/launch the game when it checks to see if it has a legit signature (which is patched out if you are using Luma)
