Homebrew [Release] FBI - Open source CIA installer

I think I figured a portion of it out. I put the FBI folder that contains the two files, into the 3ds folder on the SD card. Then put the cia game file on the SD card as well. I am also able to access the app on homebrew. However when I go to install the cia file from the fbi app, I get the error message of "Failed to install CIA file. -> /Bravely Second.cia -> Result code: 0xD8E0806A -> Level: Permanent (27) -> Summary: Invalid argument (7) -> Module: AM (32) -> Desc: Cert signature or has check failed (106)"

So clearly I missed a step somewhere. And I've lurked into a bunch of threads from various sites, but all just seem to have a different circumstance, or only pieces of the puzzle. However I don't deny the answer is in plain sight somewhere, apologies my search skills are poor

You'll need to patch service access first through some way or another (something like https://github.com/archshift/service-patch, perhaps?), but yes. Note that only properly signed CIAs will work, as Ninjhax does not provide any sort of signature patching.

Same thing with OOTHax right?

Your best bet is to just go ahead and install the FBI cia with the injected FBI so that it is on your home screen.

If you are trying to keep a clean home screen for some weird reason them just follow the same steps you originally followed to inject it with the newer file.

could u point me in the direction whats the differnce between the banners? is it the picture in the upper screen of home screen ?

FBI 2.1.0 and 2.0.5 does not work with a9lh sysnand. Both versions freezes or bricks the 3ds when downloading cia files, again while using a9lh and sysnand.

Edit: this happens to me, but I don't know if it happens to other people

You think just because they can use a file manager, that they are clever? topkek.

I didn't say they were clever but "smart enough" to not do stupid things... sure we have some "genius" here that would delete random nand files because they don't know what they are doing, but most people are not that stupid.

@Steveice10 there's something wrong with FBI 2.0.5 ;

When you launch System Settings using FBI title launcher, MSET will show the first-time settings (like when you format your console, or use FS:InitializeCtrFileSystem command)
If you reboot your 3ds, you'll lose all your playcoins.

FBI 1.4.17 launch it just fine.

(I'm using a9lh + luma3ds, sysnand)

I didn't give it much thought but now that you mention it the gray box can look better if just has the dev name without fbi next to it. And perhaps the version number of the app?

FBI v2.1.1 has been released.

Hm I wonder if that is why the 2.1.0 and 2.0.5 fbi won't work for me on sysnand.
