oh, ok! Thank you! could you possibly point me in the direction of a guide or someone who knows how to replace textures via hex editing? Because like I said, I'm still learning in this particular area. (Though it's also ok if you can't!)

I'm not using tutorials for that.
I'm using tools to convert textures in the correct format (or just pack a texture into a new bcmdl-file), use a hex-editor to find the texture you want to use and replace the texture in the other file (with skeletons, Lights, ...) with your texture.
Ah, I suck when I want to describe something xD sorry

Ok, thanks for your help. I just looked through a decompressed version of the file in HxD, and did see the names of the textures (chara1 and chara) pop up quite a few times in the right column. I also looked briefly at one of the edited textures (which is actually just a PNG). The problem is... I don't know what I'm supposed to replace where, and with what part of the PNG file. Is this different from game to game or is there something in particular I should look for?

You can't use PNG data. You should convert to native 3ds format.

I can't say File Formats like BCMDL, BCLIM, CTEX, etc. are actually native 3DS Formats, since those are part of a Middleware, called "NintendoWare for CTR".
100% native 3DS Formats can be a hell to get them to work (if you can get them to work at all), which is why these NW4C Formats are so widely used on the 3DS.

What is EFE good for? Or how am I using it? Extracted the romfs of Fire Emblem and tried to drag every file type in it, but It simply does nothing. No error message, nothing gets opened and I don´t know why

Is there a way to batch script with this? Like "EveryFileExplorer.exe texture.bctex texture.png"?

It is good to view some files that 3DSExplorer can't view, you can't inject/import stuff with it though. What file extension are you trying to open ?

So it isn't possible to insert a new file, like a bcmdl, into an szs file with EFE? If not, how could I do so?
Depending on the file format it sometimes is possible to insert new files. But not for szs files IIRC.

Sorry for my ignorance, but as soon as I open Every File Explorer, I open, I choose szs files, but does not open anything. Yet I waited so long, and nothing, not even an error message appeared. Is there a way to solve this problem? P.S. even with other files (such as ones with yaz0 extension does not open them)

Think you can let us know when the tool can extract and edit BCSAR files? That is a format a lot of people want to edit I noticed.

It should load. Is the szs file corrupted or something?

I know that EFE can extract and replace files, but I don't know if it can add new files without replacing old ones. But since you say you can't with szs files, do you know another program that can do so?
