Its against forum rules to ask for or provide ROM files.

As for Maya, why do you need an older version of maya, EFE exports to OBJ, every 3d software has supported that format for over 10 years now. I can confirm that Maya 2015 works perfectly fine with the exported files, dae files I've not tried but maya does have a build in DAE importer.

oh sorry, i'm new here so i better check the rules
I want to get my own custom tracks into MKDS but the Course Modifier gives me an error when i try to convert my OBJ into NSBMD, with an older version of Maya there is a plugin avaible to convert in Maya itself.
I also tried replacing NSBMD files with other NSBMD files but it doesn't seem to save that into the game.
Almost every program i use for ROM hacking doesn't work completely like it works when others use it.

Theres a NSBMD importer for maya? I've not heard of that.

In order to extract the files from 3DS games you either need a .3ds and the XORPAD data, or a .CIA file, which you can then convert to .cci and extract the ROMFS (and2 other important files), from there you can extract those using ctrtool.exe which is a command line program.

I didn't explain it well, There's a plugin wich alows you to convert your OBJ file in maya into a NSBMD or NSBMA file (http://florian.nouwt.com/wiki/index.php/Creating_a_Custom_Track/NSBMD)
i dont hack 3DS games, im still doing the old DS ones

Oh now I understand, yeah I know of that plugin.

But I'm still unsure why you require an old version of maya though. 3DS and DS Format wise I'm not too knowledgeable, but maya wise, I've been using it professionally for almost 10 years so if you're unsure on something I might be able to explain it.

Don't hate me, but I am getting the same error message as everyone before. However, there isn't an unblock button when I go to the properties. I know that the button should be toward the bottom right, but it doesn't exist.

I just installed a new copy of windows 7. I have also tried to extract using 7-zip and winrar, both with the same result. Any other advice to make that unblock button appear, or another way that I can extract the file?

Thanks!

The problem is, i don't have the money for Maya and i read on some youtube evideos that the plugin only worked on Maya 7.
I think i'm gonna make a thread for the Blender community (i use Blender myself) so that we can find some people who are capeble of making tools for Blender.

- BFLIM Support (only tested for 3ds games)

Thanks for that, at last!
But... there's no png->bflim conversion (still .CLIM only, no FLIM).

Also, there are quality issues with PNG, opened in EFE. It looks like JPEG low quality and converts to CLIM in such quality, too
(zoomed, "Draw" from Zelda ALBW graphics (.bflim):

Could you please add .png->.bFlim conversion and fix that issue with quality?

Do you not get this when you right click the .rar file in windows explorer? http://puu.sh/f0Ol5/a0078e0fd4.jpg

If you can send me the plugin I can try it with the more recent versions of maya. If the plugin is written in Python then translating that to the sort of python that Blender importer/exporters like shouldn't be too difficult come to think of it.

If you unpack it using 7-zip or winrar it might work without unblocking.

The quality is lower, because it converts to the compressed etc1a4 format. I am going to add a dialog for format selection, so you can select an uncompressed format aswell. I will add bflim generating too.

It is not in python. It is a combination of a mel script with an exe.

Do you plan to add exporting DAE back to it again and exporting Skeletons and Weights for the CGFX type of models?

Are there any plans to support external bones/animations.

From all the roms I've looked at, the motion data it almost always stored separately to the character model, and I assume the bones are stored with the motion data.

Additionally, if bones are supported, being able to toggle them on/off in the viewport might be nice too, not essential but its an easy way of knowing where bones are before export.

You mean converting a dae with bones to bcmdl?

Bones are stored in the model. Animations might be inside or separate. As soon as it supports playing them, it will support external animations aswell.

I think he might mean exporting from the viewer with bones as .dae files.

Ah okei. So I've got BCH and animations to look forward to then. I know for most games animations are never hacked as the formats are usually too complex, are the animations for CGFX and BCMDL well documented then?

I will try to implement that in the future.

I figured them partly out already.

hey I'm very very noob here with this .. to sue this I need to decript therom, right? I can only do it with an 4.x 3ds ? there another way I can do? :/
(I'm trying to make some undubs ...)
