hey guys
when i first hacked my ds i went to check out if there was a ddr like game out there, however i couldn't get dsdsr to work and also it was really outdated.
therefore i decided to just learn c++ and make my own with devkitpro tools, i'm really surprised by how well done they are.

anyhow, features:
plays .sm simfiles
displays banners and backgrounds in both .png and .jpeg format
plays .ogg and .mp3 audio files
really simple score system

no conversion needed, just download any .sm song for stepmania and paste it into your sdcard, with some luck it'll work.
the first release is here along with the source code

let me know what you think

a friend playing on a new 3ds

no$gba fails at displaying some stuff, but it looks fine on hardware

Looks really cool and was fun to test. Will you continue making games and other stuff for the DS?
i need to finish my uni semester first, then i think i'll check out more ds homebrew

Hello.:)

Work this in twilight menu from sd card?

If I see the first Seconds correct,it starts TWiLight Menu and according to the Message on the lower Screen it should run from the SD Card (it is played on an New 3DS).

Also this Line:

no conversion needed, just download any .sm song for stepmania and paste it into your sdcard

points to the internal (micro)SD Card.:)

The songs that do work will work great, but half the songs I tried throwing at this thing crashed it. A few others I couldn't get the music to play no matter what I did, and another had some stops working while other stops were completely ignored throwing the song off sync. For the ones that crashed, I couldn't find a common issue between them. Some with scripted BG changes worked while others didn't, some with special characters in the .sm worked while others didn't, some with temp changes or stops worked while others didn't, some were ogg while others were mp3, it really just seems random. But it's still really cool, I just ended up deleting the ones that didn't work and keeping the ones that did.

man I love this, thank you so much. Having this and Taiko no Tatsujin goes along <3 I'm only missing now something like Frets on Fire.

Just 1 request if I'm allowed to! flipscreen option, for those like me with broken top screen :'(
