Maybe the O3DS gang is being a bit dense at understanding that console is not his priority or even in his plans, but that's about it.
I think the annoying ones are the smartasses being all "why is this worse than the PSP one? 3DS has a a beter processor but N64 has MIPS blahblah so you could do this and that". If you're so smart go make your own emulator.
Nobody "shitted" on his work... people's just intense. Be it begging, suggesting, asking over and over the same thing, or even demanding, but i don't think anyone's being a jerk. At least here, i dunno about the discord shenaniganz someone mentioned.
Let this thread rest for a while until there's news, shall we?

I’ve just installed it on my 2dsXL and it shows promise. I’m happy to wait and see how things develop with this.

I tried this emu and it made me very, very happy. I am looking forward to seeing a working stereography on n3ds. So I decided to encourage MasterFeizz in spending more time on his great works by having a beer or a maté tea on my expenses instead of demoralizing him.

I'm rather impressed... Using the release that @ohasanov linked both Mario 64 and F-zero X run very well (the latter with some minor graphical issues).

Is that a new beta release? Or a old beta release?

Looks like it's dated 7/7 so it's a bit newer than the GitHub page. Should probably follow the discord to see if anything newer pops up

Considering how much more powerful the N64 is than the PS1, it's very doubtful.

well on wii homebrew n64 emulation is much better than ps1 emulation xD so it all depends on the devs commitment :P

Whats your point? This isnt the wii. and it wont ever be. I dont get why peopld choose to make console comparisons when its not something thats comparible.

I am not well-versed on this matter, but I think that one of the main reasons the Wii emulates N64 better is due to a few architectural similarities between the two consoles, whereas the Wii might be much different from the PS1 in that regard. In most cases however, the N64 has been historically a pain to emulate both accurately and with enough speed. But we can always dream.

n64 and ps1 are both mips based, wii is power pc so there is no gain on architecture on either side.

becuase its harder to emulate n64 than ps1 and if the wii can run n64 better than ps1 then if the new 3ds can run n64 better than pscreamred on new3ds too it will be enough xD.

a couple of months without an update is not that long regarding homebrew development. I waited way longer for other projects. I would love to see new progress as well... it was / is a long time dream project for the new 3DS finally becoming a reality

however I can kind of empathize loosing (temporary?!) interest in a project, when a community is this kind of entitled, toxic, annoying and overall unthankful

I'm still pissed about it.... If you can't tell by now.

the waiting game is the fun part of these projects, patience is key..not to mention right now covid raging all around the world so i wouldn't really expect much in terns of open source work being priority in the devs life right now

Never has it been declared discontinued so until further notice it is still under development and the waiting game is still on. My suggestion is to find something else to focus on until news pops up in whatever time it may take.

I hope people will avoid bumping this thread just to ask if there are any news on development since if the dev wants to share something I figure he will.
