Just trying to gather info all in one place, I knew at the time there was a solution I just had forgotten what it was, figured I'd edit my post if someone didn't get to it before me (obviously you got there before me) also have you even looked at it? At least have a look before assuming it's "half baked" :P, sorry if it came off as me trying to direct traffic, but it was more of a 'hey hadn't thought of that, thanks for mentioning it, it'd be a good idea to add it to my guide'
I had a look when you first posted it, and checked it out again just now. There's no question about it, it has become much more comprehensive over the past week, and you're clearly putting a lot of work into it.

The half-baked comment is primarily in regard to the thread title.

The title is an oxymoron, something can't be both "complete" and a "work in progress" concurrently, it's impossible. Again, your guide can't be considered complete" if it doesn't contain a section on firmware spoofing and free multipatcher.

Anyhow, when your guide is close to completion, you can message a mod and have them remove the WIP tag. If it's to their satisfaction they may even be able to make it a sticky.

Well thank you, it has undergone quite a few revisions and I have to say it wouldn't be as good as it is if it wasn't for the community, and I hadn't considered the oxymoron thing haha, after I get the guides all hammered out I'll get on the firmware spoofing and virtual console stuff, this is also my first real attempt at a guide and I've been wanting to do it for awhile... Anyways back on topic @mid-kid never answered my question about firmware_patched.bin ;)

Does this firmware_patched.bin file get generated once we put the patches in place and enable auto boot or do we have to generate it somehow (sorry for all of the questions I just want to have my facts straight)

It gets generated if the reboot patch is enabled (or some other cake requires it), or if autoboot is enabled.
If you just boot to sysNAND, don't apply any patches or don't enable autoboot, it won't appear.

what is right firmware.bin(new 3ds). I tried many versions of firmware.bin,sig patches does'n work.(new 3ds 9.2 J)

could you Provided md5 hash? thank you!

Can't boot into cakes 98 with ninjhax on old 3ds 4.x. Have the latest ninjhax files for cakes. Anyone else have this issue?

You're not the only one. I had encountered a bug where it would get stuck at "Booting..." when using Pasta MSET to boot Cubic Ninja. I have no idea why it happens, but it works for me when booting Cubic Ninja with CakesFW sysNAND on a 4.x firmware.bin. I'm still getting bug reports for this, however, but I still don't understand why it happens.

Could you please describe the problem in a more detailed fashion? What do you see, any errors, hangs, or just a black screen? When does it happen? Exact firmware version and console model? Ninjhax vesion?

Yeah it lets me select patches and when I press a to boot it gets stuck booting. I've tryed it on 2 old 3ds with system 4.5. One eur console and one us, and obviously I'm using ninjhax 1.1b. Thanks

New release: Cakes 99
Long ago, when I created CakeBrah, I forgot to change some things that are expected by CakeHax payloads (such as CakesFW). See commit.
This release fixes the "Booting..." hang when booting with Ninjhax. I suggest people who have problems booting to try it. (Looking at you, @Columbo2811)
I can't reproduce other "Booting..." hangs myself, so those might take longer to fix.

Do you have any idea why brahma won't boot on ninjhax 2 ? The advantage would be people who updated without a browser could launch cakes and switching back and forth with ninjhax 1 wouldn't be as necessary.

To be honest, I have no idea (they set up the environment differently, but I don't know how). Nor do I have interest in looking for it.

2DS 6.0.0-12E.
Just tried, I'm still getting "Booting.." with spider and a black screen with MSET.
I'm able to boot rxTools, with both spider and MSET, only if I disable auto start. I get a black screen if I just let it auto start.
EDIT: If I enter to emuNAND with rxTools and return to sysNAND (opening and closing the settings app, without shutting down the 2ds), then if I try to enter emuNAND again with cakes it works.
Hope this could be of any help and sorry if it wasn't very clear.

Still no news of @b1l1s ?

Apparently he'll be busy with real life for a (pretty long) while. He's still there, though.

Whoa, that's really weird. I guess it's time for me to formally look over rxTools' code. I'm probably missing some initialization or something that rxTools does have.

cakesfw V98 disable sig check not work with 9.2-20J on sysnand mode.
FBI:1.4.14.
any cia can not install.

I know @b1l1s has a JPN 3DS, and the sig patches work for him. Make sure you have the latest firmware.bin as linked in the OP.

@mid-kid whats your favorite type of cake.

Apple crumble.
