Denuvo is taking legal action against the game cracker known as “Voices38”

Crackers are doing a favor to everyone by removing/bypassing a widespread malware called DRM.
Exactly!

Good luck finding the person or people that do the cracking.

They are assuming that the culprit(s) is an USA citizen right? Because if its someone in, lets say China or Russia, what is Denuvo going to do?

Edit: Forgot to say, Fuck Denuvo in every way possible.
They could possibly convince the FBI to go search for him, it has happened before but rarely

The FBI only works inside the USA. The rest of the world they would need Interpool and the cooperation of the host country.

USA people tend to forget that the USA are not the world, nor they have any jurisdiction outside the USA.

I just find it interesting that the anti-piracy company goes after them, and not the affected companies?
Really? You don't get that 100% of Denuvo's revenues come from these games being secured whereas the game companies still make a boatload from legit buyers? The real injured party is Denuvo.
🏴‍☠️Which I'm quite happy about.🏴‍☠️

And Interpol is not what you think. It just coordinates activities between investigating national agencies.
Such as the FBI.

Getting the default judgment will allow Denuvo to demand that Reddit, Valve and Discord not only reveal what they know about those account(s), but get those accounts banned. Voices38 has already laughed off the lawsuit, likely indicating that he lives somewhere safe and/or was smart about not leaving a digital trail. Or he's US-based, cocky, and about to go down.

I know who I'm rooting for! Fck Denuvo and fck DRM!

Please forgive me my ignorance… what has been done over Discord? Coordination and discussion between members of a cracking team?
I assumed that people who are able to defeat sophisticated DRM garbage have a working brain. They should refrain from using any KYC (Know Your Customer) services with centralized ownership of infrastructure and missing or incomplete E2EE.
The chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Being member of a group involved in any activity outside legality carries high risks. If there is just one person not protecting their stuff properly this means a Game Over
It's what the lawsuit claims, denuvo believes they have a discord ID, reddit account, and 7 steam profiles linked to the voices38 person. As such that's the angle they're going to pursue.

Will it work? We'll have to wait and see.

The lawsuit also hasn't entered the discovery phase yet so there is no evidence to back those claims yet.

The US has tons of extradition treaties with other countries in order to get people arrested and shipped to the US if they broke US laws and vise versa.
The usual wrinkle here is that the law also has to be broken in the host country, which is fairly likely as most of the bigger countries all have adopted the DMCA standard or something very similar to it, meaning this copyprotection circumvention is also illegal in those places.

If voices38 get arrested then something will get a lot of worst happen. They will target and hunt to kill all federal and government agents. They will going to destroy nuclear energy grid plants buildings in one day. It would cause billions of dollars in damages to all grid energy buildings everywhere places.

When grid energy buildings get destroyed then will be massive power outages to hit over 1 millions of people.

No internet after grid energy plants are destroyed:

No banking online, PayPal, Venmo, credit / debit cards, gift cards

No shopping like all stores online include both legal (GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, Steam, Epic Games, Blizzard, etc) and illegal (warez, drugs, black markets, etc)

No social websites like Facebook, X, IG, Discord, Twitch, Reddit, etc

No forums and similar like everything include Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Reddit, Gamespot and everything

No communication like email, text and phones

No groceries and no restaurants like Amazon, Walmart and other popular food supply chains like Hardee's, Dominos Pizza, Subway, Burger King, Mcdonald and everything.

No schools, colleges, churches, etc

No Data centers, AI and servers

No steaming movies, videos, music, live news like Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, HBO, Disney, iHeart and news like Fox, CNN, Weather, etc.

Water and sewer treatment buildings will stop working like frozen.

All business, industrial and others will stop working then go out of businesses, like gas & oil companies and stores

Let everyone to destroy grid energy plants buildings!

Think twice and leave voices38 and other scene groups alone! Or everyone will make huge threats toward federal and government agents!

All federal and government will face wide major problems and crisis upcoming.

Last edited by console,
Hopefully this guy is a huge schizo when it comes to VPNs(and with good reason in this case) or he lives in a country that would laugh at the FBI or w/e like Russia or China. And the US gov ain't going to prisoner exchange for some random video game hacker. lol

I do worry about him using Discord or Reddit, when he's supposed to have a huge amount of opsec. I would be using burner phones in random McDonald's parking lots to communicate anything online, uploading the file, then smashing the phone. lol

It would be funny if loads and loads of people or bots started creating accounts of various forums and sites with the username voices38, that would make it more difficult to find the hacker. Then there's obviously geography to take into consideration, what if they find ip addresses linked to the PRC or Russia or some other non friendly US country. There's also the it's not illegal in my country to do this......

USA think eveyone in the world has the same laws as they do, but alas they don't. I can't see this lawsuit going anywhere, infact probably all it will do is make hackers want to crack all these denuvo drm games even more.

The more confusing part about all of this, is Denuvo isn't even an American company. lol

I think it's south African but I might be wrong. They don't know who the hacker is and they don't know where the hack occurred?
