Have you considered porting Vice to 3DS/N3DS. Emulation is far more accurate and is not limited to early c64 games (e.g recent demo's run without a problem)

It would run rather slow on a old3DS but a new one should be able to emulate it at full speed

Sure, have you?

There are two main reasons that I didn't. 1, The frodo source if organised a little better and easier to port. 2, I already had a good jumping off point (frodo DS), a good chunk of the work was already done by Troy Davis. 3, I only have a 3DSXL, I don't see the fairness in alienating both myself and all of the other o3ds owners just because the new machine is a little faster. I also see this as a bad move on Nintendo's part. A new console should be a NEW CONSOLE, not a slightly better version of the old one, they will soon alienate their own customers by releasing New 3DS ONLY titles, I'm not going to do that with homebrew and to be fair, nobody else should either.

To be fair, I can respect your own choice, but you shouldn't tell other people what to do.

Everyone tells other people what to do everyday. Nobody is forced to do that, I have no doubt that the vast majority of people will take no notice.

And on that note, here, download and test the latest build...

Added screen timeout option, set to zero to leave the lower screen on.

i have a n3ds and it works with zero option. big thx
So only the Sound is still crap.

then happens that the screen goes on and make some click sound. The N3DS crashs only sometimes if i start after Breadbox an Retroarchemu and it make also an ugly sound. my N3DS is on V9.2.

Will it be possible to save the config?

I really don't know what to tell you guys who are having the issues. I just tested it on my 10.2 o3ds and it worked fine.
Are you 100% sure you have key1.raw in /c64/ folder? it tried to read that when you tap the screen...

Good news spinal_cord touch screen now working I was missing the key1.raw file it was missing from the last zip I downloaded. I still had it on my computer and checked the zip and it was not there instead I had a whole load of c64 game files that did not load which is a bit strange lol anyway I downloaded it again and the missing file was there. Well thanks for all your help and it's working great now

@spinal_cord Does this emulator currently take advantage of the New 3DS's increased clock speed?

In what way? it's currently running at 50fps for most games, at it's lowest point it runs at around 47fps. Other than a constant 50fps, what advantage would there be?
