So a question: I have yet to install BASICSploit, and my 3DS is not connected the internet (Gotta block them update nags :D). Is there any way I can manually install the payload? Or is that not possible?

You need to be connected to the internet to download the needed files through the downloader.

What is the reason for all these various exploits? Do we need all of them? If not, we've got to stop this.
Releasing these exploits is hurting a game developer's livelihood. Not only do they lose sales during their game's time off the eShop, but they also have to put in extra hours to patch the game with no compensation.

Releasing exploits based on games available on a web-based shop is hurting the developers. Just remember that for the future.

You can easily downgrade it in like 5 seconds:
umm i have an updated version of the game but cant find the "_0016de00" folder in any of my folders . . . couldn't i just go into settings and delete the extra data for smilebasic to get the same effect?

edit: i found the file but the thing is none of the files have underscores weird . . . i will just try dropping the first zero

2nd edit: . . . well horrible idea now the game does not display the folder has somehow been replaced with another of a different name and data management says its name is ? and size is 0 also the only option it gives me is delete and its already removed from the e-shop . . . rip dreams of hbc for this 3ds . . . why the fuck did i not backup the sd card first . . . epic fail

It doesn't seem to be working for me, using an unhacked 11.0.0-33U N3DS.
When I run it, whether typed myself or downloaded using a public key, it shows a screen that says version, project name, OK, etc. for a few seconds, then crashes with an error message saying the system needs to restart.
Most of the responses I've gotten so far say that it sounds like the homebrew starting kit isn't installed, but I tried both putting the contents of the 'starter' folder and the starter folder itself into the root of my SD card, with a MicroSD to USB adapter. Could it have transferred incorrectly or something? I just tried copying the contents again, but it still occurs.

Is your DOWNLOAD script inside of a project folder named BASICSPLOIT?
Is your wifi on?
Is your smilebasic version 3.2.1?

I like this exploit. However we need more primary ones on carts that are not made by nintendo. We need some on games that the developer has given up on the 3ds. I know its hard to get exploits working but these digital download ones always get pulled or forced updated.

One could also argue that the developer has received a large sales spike in response to this, from people who want hacks on their console. It's also a program with ongoing support, with the most recent patch being released less than a month ago, so having to release an update would only push a sooner update than they were probably planning, rather than forcing them to do work they otherwise wouldn't.

For this game, yes, you could argue that. But if you accept that, this would be considered an exception, not a rule.

Who knows, depending on how they attempt to fix the exploit, if they screw up, then there could be a work around to the fix, or there might still be another bug elsewhere within smilebasic that they are unaware of, that we could make use of, for similar purposes.

This is the only 11.0 exploit released for an independently published game. All the other 11.0 exploits have been for games published by Nintendo. I get not wanting to hurt small developers, which is why I'm not fond of the existence of v*hax, but most of these exploits don't hurt small developers at all.
