IIRC I had the same problem with one of the cheats in the plugin, maybe it was the instant tree one (had all your issues plus I was no longer able to send letters in my town) and I had to revert to an earlier save... I hope you have a recent one

A similar thing happened to me when using a town editor for the GCN game. The villagers didn't remember me and talked about someone with the same name as me who is from nwotdiM (a non-existant town with a reversal of my town's name: Midtown). No idea what caused it but it was weird.

I'm staying away from the NTR cheat plugin until the ACNL save manager and JKSM get supported for B9S 1.2/Luma 8.0/HBL 2.0 (whatever broke the save managers, for me at least).

afaik, none of the cheats you've mentioned go anywhere near where the town name is in ram. However, this has been reported before so it may actually be a bug. The advice I can give you is to restore a save backup. If this is a bug, hopefully it'll get fixed in 4.0 as it will be a rewrite of the plugin in c++ which is more 'stricter'.

Why not just use the cia version of JKSM?

Thank you! I'll continue using this plugin and I'll keep checking the thread for more info and updates.

That's actually what I used. Both the 3dsx and CIA versions of JKSM no longer seem to work for me. The two ACNL save manager's also won't work.

EDIT: Found a way to temporarily fix this:
- Open your game, then press L+DOWN+SELECT --> Miscellaneous --> Switch hb title to hblauncher_loader.
- Close the game and relaunch it: The Homebrew Launcher will boot. From there, you can choose the ACNL save manager or JKSM and they will work.

Note: the hb title changes back to the game it was overwriting on reboot, so you have to do this every time you want to back up.

Are you using the latest JKSM CIA? Just backed up a game few minutes ago.

It's happened a lot to me as well. I usually just use a Town Save Manager to fix it. A long time ago, Ryan (the OP) told me that it has to due with one of the cheats leaking data into the wrong section of memory data. Not sure how to fix that permanently but use a Town manager to change all instances of Rairbow back to Rainbow
 
Problem for a friend of mine: Online spawning does not work. Gold tools or 2117 for 99.999 Bell bag. Text to item is on, moon jump is on, island keyboard is on. And yes, he's on the island.

Make sure he is typing the codes and then pressing Right + X immediately, and not trying to send the message after typing it.

We do this, exactly. Works on My 3DS flawless. But on his two it's not working. Nope, he's not using welcome amiibo preinstalled. Curious....
 
hello is the plugin still working?? i tried it other day and it kept freezing. or would kick like and wouldn't work. so idk what to do. thought to ask.

Yes this still works. The plugin is not perfect (meaning freezing and crashes) can still occur even if you do things right. Where is it freezing?
