Hey,

I've been looking everywhere for a relative search tool that will run on a x64 PC. All I've been able to come across is dead links and x32 versions

Does anyone know of one?

I don't really know how to be more specific about it xP

Here's a relative searcher that is for x32 only: http://www.romhacking.net/utils/39/

Basically, this is what it does:
"A relative search looks for changes from one value to the next. We can use this to find text in an unfamiliar rom. No matter what value represents "A", the value for "B" will be one higher, and so on. B=A+1, C=A+2, etc."

I know only SearchR, from DeJap team.

Old V2.0 was only for 16bit (It would work only under MSDos Win95/98, you can use VMware to host Win95 OSR2.)
But While looking for a link to give to you, I found there's a new version 3.3.0 for newer computers

SearchR.
I hope it will work on your x64

Source code is also available.

Afraid you will not get far in the rom hacking world if you restrict yourself to 64 bit although I should say http://www.romhacking.net/utils/513/ and crystaltile2 have decent relative search abilities (crystaltile2 even having a 32bit search if memory serves)..

Similarly emulation (and those are usually ported to everything out there) and some compression searching stuff aside most rom hacking tools are not that demanding on a system so you can kick it to a proper VM if your 64 bit OS lacks one without too much hassle.

I'm not new at all to rom hacking but I recently upgraded all of my computers to x64 versions, mostly for the extra ram

I'll try a VM. Thanks
