Are there any good region specific unique games?

I mean like games that are only released in japan or usa or something like that?

How would I found out?

The Korean game "Maple Story" is very good.
Only released in South Korea.

There are many good games released in the US but not here in Europe. i.e. Shin Megami Tensei IV and Soul Hackers (which is at least announced).

Kinda sucky games it seems but thanks! I only care for usually like dbz games, RPG games, Mario games, or some other good Unique titles but not into weird gameplay games.
