But I'm redirecting the conversation to this specific thread to prevent it from getting any more cluttered than it already is . I appreciate all the work that's being done by all the others, but feel like I should give that thread some more breathing room to make it less confusing for random people jumping in to the conversation.

Uhh... How is it gonna work? If it's like the 3DS then region is part of the data of the game itself. And the communications will be encrypted.
Will you just look for a specific address/byte to spoof?

Is this actually something that is definitely possible? It's just this line in the story "My idea for this chip is to write an ASM program that runs on a PIC" makes it sound like it's just an idea/theory, rather than something that is definitely possible.

Nintendo didn't bother to encrypt communication between the drive and wiiu?, you can just intercept and change as you like?

exe just means executable in general. He doesn't mean the WiiU is running .exe files lol
