So if you have an earlier FW (<4) and boot into tx os, will game updates still fetch without having the latest FW?

Where are the updates stored? The internal memory or SD cards?

Thanks for any info!

What ? You can't get game updates without latest FW.
They are stored in the SD if you have one.

Yeah that was my question. If you need to be on the latest update for game updates. Can you boot games from TX os (save games and all that) and update the FW on the clean boot later? Wont mess anything up right? They mentioned the saves are all sourced for the same location no-matter what OS you boot into correct?

On lastest FW, yes. Saves are commons to every "OS". But be carefull, you'll ask Nintendo servers to update a game with blank header.

Edit : I'm not sure if i understood your message

Ahh that's the catch I was looking for! So, its possible for Nintendo to deny updates to these blank header games and ban the console from even getting latest FW updates! Is there any offline methods of updating the Switch OS or game updates?

That blank cert is still just a theory and not fact, so it may or may not end up being the case. We just speculate on what would possibly end up earning a ban for us.
