Hacking Question Recovery Mode doesnt work

Edit:Looks like the jig was just crap. The Tinfoil Trick worked

Hello Guys.
I bought an RCM Jig, but my switch wont boot in the recovery menu.
I have it inserted in the right side, and pressed the + and powerbutton, but it is still booting normaly.
Any Ideas ._. ?

Try making the paperclip stick out more also make sure it dont push back out when insert jig.

I also had the same problem. I managed to fix it by removing the clip and bending the bottom part a little more to the front part of the jig. Then I turned the clip around so that the pointy now facing outward tips face to the back of the jig. That creates a nice curve to the tips that were not making contact with the pins. Try it out. Just don't bend it to much between each try until you get it perfect. You don't want to risk damaging the pins. Hope I explained the method correctly. English is not my main language. Good luck!

I have 2, and bended them all over the place. Noting helped.
Thats realy frustrating.
Is it possible that my pins are damaged? Are pins 1 and 10 for any buttons on the controller ?

I damaged my pins and it made it so that the joycon wouldnt talk to the console while physically connected. Does the right joycon still work when you connect it?

Yeah. All buttons work.

How are you connnecting the switch? I know when I was using my OTG cable, it was not working when the otg was connected to the switch, but worked perfectly when I connect the otg side to the phone.

I'd imagine as long as it shows physically connected on the bottom left of the home screen on the nintendo switch, the pins should still be alright.

I had to push my clip down a bit, but I recommend holding Vol + first, then Power for two seconds before you plug it in.

I thought that maybe just pin 1 and/or 10 are broken(for some reasons idk). are these pins for anything different then recovery mode, so i could try that out.

I recall them being required in order for the switch to "notice" the joycon is connected (and talk to, I believe?), or that might just be part of it. If you have the icon I linked on your home menu you should be fine.

It wouldn't hurt. I decided to make my jig from a broken joycon, since that's cheap ($8 for a rail) and should be assured to work unless you didnt solder it right. Basically, there's a few things you can try before calling it quits.

Had the same issues initially. What made it work for me was bending the ends of the "paperclip." Bend them to create a little Hill or Curve, then straigthen just the tips back.

Essentially create a small mound that will always make contact with the pins but won't interfere with the jig slidding all the way down by straightening the tips.

Also make sure to push the paperclip all way into the sides of the jig, the little indents in the plastic mold.

I done all this and now get 100% boot rate.

Is this a common Problem? Is it likely that the next jag will have it too ?
Cause this is realy frustrating.
Bending is not really working, cause the "open part" of the jag is really small.
