Gaming Recommened Programs?

I've been looking for some cool/good programs/apps for my Ubuntu 10.10 OS. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Mostly sciencey stuff, picture editing programs, themes, and GUI "enhancers'.

For image editing, GIMP is the stardard raster image editor. For a vector editor you're looking at Inkscape.

I would like to also have a screen recording program.

For the themes, what Login Screen do you (like most/ use)?

Pretty much anything in the software center comes as recommended, otherwise it wouldn't be there.

I just use the default login screen. Not like I'm going to be seeing it much.
