Oh.

Then, uh...

What about Chibi Robo: Park Patrol? I know it's not EXACTLY the same, and there aren't technically any levels and it's about growing flowers instead of progressing, but...

And on that same note, Okaeri! Chibi Robo: Happy Richie Osouji may qualify, too.
Another great game suggestion, easily top 100 in the DS library, still very un-zelda like.

Theres no dungeons or puzzle rooms to solve. The items you do get aren't necessary. They're just aids to help you get your voltage up, or traverse more ground. And the Misc items just make others happy. Teres only a slight hint of a story, but most of the game s just busy work/planting flowers. Very un-zelda-like. Although how cool was that RC Car and Windmill?
Okaeri Chibi Robo, however, is a different story. It's more like the original Chibi Robo, which is similar to Zelda except you clean things. Instead of dungeons, you get an entire house. There's not much in the way of puzzles except for the gambling thing, but getting the items you need to progress can be considered a puzzle.

Sure, one goal is to raise your rank so you can get more upgrades from Citrusoft, but the main goal is to turn the house beautiful. To clean it up and change it from the run down, crackhouse-looking place it is at the beginning of the game.

There aren't any bosses, really, but there are enemies around. Mainly rats and dirt ghosts, but still...
Fight me D:

With the exception of Okamiden, Tsumuji, and Away Shuffle Dungeon, many aren't really getting the "Zelda-like" component of the game(s) request.
so... my post was good :D
Well to be fair, all posts were good as they listed good games. Yours was the only post that actually listed some like Zelda games.

@[member='Majorami'] , what about my suggestion?.... you never even commented on it....
I gave you credit for the grand theft auto thing.

The Shirin Game on DS, just really isn't worth mentioning as a game, let alone a Zeld-like game. Shirin is just a basic dungeon crawler, much like... well much like alot of games... Its just boring, plain, and really offers no Zelda-like qualities. Even the PSP version doesn't have much to offer. Shirin falls under the "not good" category so its not like I ignored you. Course its my opinion that the game is no good, so to each their own, but it is a fact that its not zelda-like.

Soul Blazer? Very zelda like gameplay, quite a few items and you get some fun magic to play with. it a little easy if you know what your doing, and if you dont do everything it's relatively short, but it's the most zelda like game i can think of. Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma are kind of sequels to it if you know either of those games.

Here's a short video showing some gameplay, and a commentary by a man named HCBailly

Game was hard, never finished it.

Rune Factory 3, Golden Sun (kinda)
Golden Sun "kinda" nothing...

Golden Sun practically is a "Zelda" RPG. For reasons listed above, you use Djin mixing and Psynerygy Objects to acquire new Psynergy to solve puzzles/reach new areas in dungeons/over worlds. Whether its a Hammer in Zelda, or a Water-to-Ice Magic in Golden Sun, they're still objects you aquire in game that you use actively to progress the game. The RPG aspect of it is just extra. That just replaces Link's Sword Swings with Numbers and Texts.

Rune Factory is much like Chibi Robo. While in Chibi Robo you collect Watts/battery upgrades to do more stuff in a day, in Rune Factory you plant more plants in dungeons to act as pit stops to collect SP that will let you go deeper into caves. Its closer to Ys in terms of dungeon crawling. Mostly-pointless Enterance-to-exit type exploation that offers no "thought" in terms to complete. There are no walls to bomb, eyes to shoot arrows with, no pushing a series of blocks to hold down a series of buttons.... just simple "Find the boss room while hacking all the monsters in-between along the way" much like so many RPGs out there. Very un-zelda-like.

Still a great game though.

How about a homebrew game just recommended.

No i mean about solatorobo and zenonia ds.
Zenonia can be downloaded for free as a PSP mini, so I didn't consider it a DS/DSi title.

Solatorabo is a furry game. Even if there's great gameplay to be had, I wouldn't know because I cannot tolerate playing games with art/visuals that turn me off. Solotorabo is the 2nd game I completely brush off for the sole reason of art alone. And to give you an idea of how much that means to me:

I'm not a picky gamer. Out of the near-6000 I've Tried atleast 600 unique ROMS, kept atleast 400 of them, really played atleast 300 of them, and beat atleast 130 of them. Solobotorabo has the honors of being the 1st and only non-shovel ware game on DS that I didn't even bother to download. It just goes to show you how much I refuse to play a game with furries.

Solo is a game I can't offer any gameplay-related feedback on because its a game I straight up refuse to even play, let alone do any research on. Maybe its because I've been on Gaia Online for nearly 9 years, but I just straight up hate furries like old people hate interacial gay couples adopting extremist mulsim babies with STD's.

Majorami, thanks for kinda coming to defend my question from the people that aren't really paying attention. If I wanted an RPG I would have asked for one. I pretty explicitly said not to suggest them in fact. On the other hand you don't have to be quite so harsh. It doesn't have to be a zelda clone per se, as much as in the zelda style. I said in the original post that I couldn't even think of many games that were like zelda from back in the day even. What I could think of off the top of my head were Final Fantasy Adventure for the Gameboy (later remade as Sword of Mana for GBA), and its sequel (which really doesn't fit--I think Secret of Mana is more like Chrono Trigger in style than Zelda), and I thought of the two great Genesis Action-Adventure titles, Crusaders of Centy (which practically rips of LttP's art style) and Beyond Oasis, which has a ton of unique features to it. I never played it, but I'm also of the understanding that Secret of Evermore is kinda zelda-esque in gameplay.
Okamiden seems like a fantastic choice, and I'll be playing it soon. Also, I think the stylus seems like a far better tool than the Wii-Mote for the game's mechanics. And again, from what I've seen of it on my iPhone, Zenonia would have been a good suggestion (If I could get the damn controls to work right, I'd be in heaven with it). And even though they seem like stupid games, I'm giving Dungeon Raiders and Dragon Ball a chance. Solatorobo as well, without knowing a damn thing about it.

Also, why do people keep suggesting games from systems I didn't say? I had said GBA was fine, and DS should be a duh. But SNES games? Really? DREAMCAST?! I dunno about you guys sometimes...

Sorry man this was a trending topic on the homepage, I miss read DS for DC when I recommended Elemental Gimmick Gear for the DC and I admit I never checked which forum this was in coming from the homepage, I thought it was in off topic.

Omg I know -_- (about the non-DS games)

And I DO have to be harsh, and you WILL enjoy Okamiden. Remember me bragging about the 400 Roms I have saved on my harddrive (Half of which can all fit on my single 16GB card) Well Okamiden fits in my "Top 5" list of just-NDS games out of the 300 unique games I've tried. Though not everyone enjoyed Okamiden like I did, but to me, its like the Ocarina of Time that DS neverr got. Its one of the rare console-like style games the NDS ever got that features a full-featured world (No HUB areas ala Kingdom Hearts and other Menu/Zone navigated games) you can explore filled with many objects that require specific skills you acquire at later times in the game. Its dungeons consist of areas/puzzels that do require thinking/context items, and like Zelda and Golden sun, items/magic are both incorporated into puzzles AND combat. It has a beautiful soundtrack, great colors and theme, and in some cases is just down right adorable. And also contains side quests that do offer you rewards in form of extra skins/items/weapons.

In my opinion it is a serious contender for greatest DS game. I'm actually really surprised the game didn't get higher reviews, or more talk/support from other gamers. And the story isn't too shabs either.
