Which tablet should I buy? I really want a tablet, but I don't know which one to buy. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be nice if there was a way to play GBA and DS games using an emulator.

Pick your price point, of at least 8GB models across all brands - gsmarena is great for that.
Go to XDA and see which ones can be rooted/custom firmware'd.
Pick the one that has the most activity in its sub-forum.
or
Just get a used gaming/business laptop.

Any Android Tablet from 2014 onwsrds can emulate GB/GBC/GBA if you use:
- RetroArch 2021 for GB/GBC/GBA
- Drastic

For something heavier, like, Wii, GCN, PS2... get a Samsung Tablet from 2018.

Are you buying it only for gaming or do you want to do other things on it too? If it's only for gaming and you want to play DS games you should consider the Ayaneo Flip DS or a real DS Lite and flash cart with GBA functionality.

If updates are a concern, I'd either be looking for something with decent custom ROM support or decent official update support.

Be aware that with One UI 8 Samsung officially blocks unlocking the bootloader.

I've been using an Amazon Fire Tablet for years now and it meets my needs quite adequately, namely watching videos, showing off pictures, browsing the web, and reading ebooks. It's quite easy to install the Google Play Store app, so you're not locked into Amazon's ecosystem. I was using it to run AC Pocket Camp back before they dropped support for 32-bit Android devices, so I expect lightweight emulators should be fine.

It definitely feels a bit cheap, but the price was great. I won't be too worked up if the screen breaks one way or another.
