I wanted to restore my file system in safe mode, but midway it said my data was corrupted, I need to reformat the harddrive. I had internet connection settings on it, so if I am going to reformat, I'm probably just going to turn off the router. I don't mind having to reformat the harddrive (though I have to copy all my games back), but if I choose to reformat, is there a risk of accidentally losing the CFW?

So, I can just go to safe mode. Select Restore PS3 System. Let it run, and once it's done, it'll ask me to reinstall the rebug firmware to the harddrive?

Just tried it. Restore PS3 System formatted the harddrive and kept rebug firmware. I'm doing a full format now. Thanks!
