Hacking Really weird Wiikey issue with NTSC-J

I dont know how this may help you but...
I just burned Bleach (J) on my NTSC wiikey modded wii and it didnt work. I got the same error that you were having, with the ? simbol.
But then I just changed the region override to YES (I didnt do that before) and the game worked. So...

what patcher program is everyone using? I just used RegionFrii on Bleach but it seemed to easy. There was no process or anything.

Try a different brand of the DVD blank your using. The Wii probably doesn't like the dye used on it.

I use printable discs that dont have anything printed on them yet so I dont think it has anything to do with the dye, also the NTSC-U games are fine so thats another reason why I dont think that is the issue... I will try a +R that I have of different brand tomorrow though. (Used a -R first time)

Like I stated in my post, I tried turning it on with 1.0 and 1.1 config discs with no success. But thank you for the reply.

Also I emailed WiiKey and FoundMy today so when I get a reply I will post it back here.

I stated in previous post that I used wiigion free and it worked fine (takes like 2 seconds to patch the iso). I just dont want to have to reburn Japanese games that my girlfriend has just for the patch, its a waste of time and discs.


Thank you for your replies everyone, like I said I will update you if I hear anything from foundmy or wiikey. If anyone has any other ideas please post.

Uh... the dye used to make the writable portion of the disc has nothing to do with ink on the label...
