Its really not though. There's not much to it and if you follow the guide to a T, your Wii U will be just fine. Getting A9LH on the 3DS is a much more complicated and risky task in my opinion, but even that will still work out just fine if you follow the guide word for word and take your time.
What guide? Download game, install xD
Installing a "broken" file to USB will either cause an error or just not work, so I don't see why people get scared

As for OP
Any CFW works, whether you wanna boot from browser or coldboot is up to you.

I don't see why they're recommending cfw anyway.. if you install the game to usb you won't need unless it's out of region.

It's very simple. If you want to use your European download you'll have to use a region free CFW. If you cant/won't buy a DS game for HaxChi CFW then use Mocha. Download Mocha files and put them where you need to on your SD. Then go to loadiine.ovh/kafluke and launch Mocha.

After that use WUP installer through HBL to install your out of region game.

The simplest method is to just use "Brazilian Method"

1. Download USA game through Wii U USB Helper.
2. Transfer files to SD
3. Install with WUP installer.

Done. No CFW needed

I can confirm that EU botw + 1.3.0 update is working without the need of sig patches or other magic, just plain install with brazilian method.
Installing DLCs will change that for all regions and sig. patching will be needed.
I have found an Haxchi mod that only does sig patching, just launch it when needed and wait 4-5 seconds for it to load and return to home menu.
Here's the link for it: http://gbatemp.net/threads/haxchi-direct-a-simple-signature-patcher.453346/

To anyone still using Loadiine because all the WARNINGS scare you and make you not want to try the newer methods or because you don't understand the new hacks.... I was in the same boat. I kept putting off ditching Loadiine due to my lack of knowledge and fear of bricking my system.

I then found this tutorial http://gbatemp.net/threads/mattkimuras-wii-u-hacking-guide.462121/ which is very basic and right to the point. Simply read, download the files and follow the first 2 steps and that is it.

To install games, you can grab this software and then follow step 3 in the tutorial to install them. http://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-u-usb-loading-install-wiiu-games-to-usb-or-internal-memory.445514/

I was on the original firmware that was hacked and then updated to the latest through nintendo and then followed the tutorial to set up my browser links for mocha.

The guide for installing Haxchi and/or CBHC. By all means don't just download and install the files without a guide, that is bad advice to be giving. Follow the guide or you could brick when modding the Wii U. If however you follow the guide perfectly, then you wont brick. And then of course installing the actual games is incredibly easy and thats fool proof.

Thank you for actually helping @pazon123. I felt bad for the user because he just needed a simple explanation on what to do but a bunch of users spent an entire page arguing with themselves instead of helping the OP. +1 respect for you.

it is no more needed, since v2.4 haxchi default mode do exactly this
github quote :
Changes to Haxchi:
-use same iosu patcher for both haxchi and cbhc to allow haxchi to benefit from it
-added new config option to haxchi, "sysmenu" which will relaunch you into the system menu with signature, region patches and everything else that cbhc patches

I use the wiiu eshop Version. Would be interresting to See the lodingtimes between eshop/disc/switch/loadiine compared. Nintendo once said that wiiu loads slower

Wait so you are telling me you are using Loadiine AND a Class 6, 16gb card in 2017?

Shit man you just time traveled to the past without Delorean.

What is the total size of the game + updates?
I wonder if it fits on the 32GB, or I should say something like 24, 25GB because NAND and stuff.

I got everything to work, I'm just waiting for games to install. Thank you to those who helped!

I had nothing available at the moment, it was the SD in my Raspberry Pi xD I'm getting SD Extreme Pro soon, i think like 95/90 Read/Write, 32g
