Hacking re-formatting a2i

Hi there, I am going to re-format my a2i due to the games suddenly not loading. (I am using akaio1.71) Before I do that, I would like to know how to back up the files already on the sd card so I don't need to resart games from the beginning.
I searched but I was getting a page that said that I was using wrong search terms???

make a folder on your computer call "acekard backup"
than copy all the files on the micro sd and paste into the "acekard backup" folder

after formatting just put everything back into the micro sd

Make sure that you format using the Panasonic SD Formatter. It should help prevent this issue from coming back.

. I reformatted it all with the sd formatter on the "noobie guide for the a2i" from this site and so far it's all good!
