1. If I am not on the invite list for the beta I should not download and use Rawk 3.0 - EVEN THOUGH the link to download it is up on the wiki page?
You can download it if you want, but it will refuse to run on your wii.
QUOTE2. I cannot use illegally downloaded DLC content (BIN files I have without actually purchasing them) on an SDHC/USB Drive with Rawk 3.0? (I have the officially purhcased rock band 2 disc)
Right.

Hmmm, can I still use the disc ripping features of rawk 3.0 to get band hero songs onto an SD card for play on rock band 2, using the old rawk sd wii app to install them?

Also regarding the DLC issue. This means that we are given the ability to use storage media >2gb, but we have to actually buy all the DLC? I mean honestly who is actually going to purchase more than 2gb of DLC content... that is quite a bit of money ><

Oh well, it's up to the developers of the program I suppose.. broke me is stuck with my 2gb SD card forever I guess. Here's hoping I win the lottery.

thanks for the quick reply.

no doubt. I mean before I knew how to get them for free I did purchase some of my favourite songs. I just don't see myself purchasing enough to warrant getting rid of my ability to have 2gb worth of DLC for free. Yeah it's wrong, but I'm a student studying overseas and need to watch where I spend my money ><

Like everyone else, I've been waiting a long time for Rawk 3.0, it's just a little dissapointing to know, the feature I needed most from it makes itself redundant since I don't need extra space for DLCs I wont be able to use

i don't know anything about programming, but i think it would be pretty frickin sweet if the RSD3 PC app were able to play the custom's song.

It's theoretically possible for RB1, the Track Packs, and Guitar Hero games, but it would be impossible for Green Day Rock Band and (AFAIK) Lego (decryption). And it's not likely to be implemented.

I do so enjoy the argument that poverty justifies larceny. Just keep cheesing off the devs and you'll never see RawkSD 3...

I never made that argument. I never said I disagreed with what the devs are doing. I simply stated that I am upset that I wont be able to use illegal DLCs because I personally choose not to spend money on them, and wish I knew this would be the case earlier. I don't see why people choosing not to buy DLCs would "cheese" the devs off.

Should probably stop talking about this issue, it's cluttering a thread and people looking for answers will have to read through all this

how would you have lived your life differently had you known this, gohan3k?

let's see if i buy what ever songs to work for rawk sd it would cost my 132 to get all the songs i want legit...

I am very excited about this release--I drum all @#%$#^ day and I am tired of having to switch out SD cards--I want any song I have downloaded (6 GB, legally) to show up in a mystery setlist. Obviously, when this works, I will owe y'all a firstborn or something. I'm learning to mod my Wii specifically for this, so I really don't know much technically. I know you can import the songs from Guitar and Band Hero somewhat, can anyone clear up what the drumming situation is like for these imports? As in, can I import the drums from the Hero series and if so which discs? Thx in advance, I just want to know what my level of excitement should be in the coming weeks.

GHWT/GHM/SH/VH- Orange pad translates to RB blue pad.
GH5/BH- Orange pad translates to RB green pad.

All importable RB games retain the same drum setup. A complete import list can be found at the wiki.

Additionally, Guitar Hero 3 and Aerosmith for Wii and Guitar Hero 1 and 2 for PS2 can be imported with automatically-created drum charts based on the in-game animations. These charts are usually playable and for some songs they're quite accurate, while for others they can be rather low-quality. Keep in mind that these will also show up if you're playing a Mystery Setlist on drums, meaning you might need to restart if something impossible like GH3's TDWDTG comes up.

These are also expert-only, correct?
