If you know how to rip DLC from your xbox you shouldn't need me to tell you what to do.

I have no problem ripping the DLC from my 360 hard drive.

I wanted to know if it is possible to use it in the Wii version.

Are there any specific step I need to follow to get the 360 DLC working or do I just follow the normal custom steps?

It is possible as I have done it, but I don't think they would be too happy if I posted how here. PM me if you really want

Here's a strange one, I couldn't find anything similar in the thread, but it seems worth mentioning.

I installed everything without a hitch (on a 3.2U Wii updated to 4.0 with Waninkoko's updater), ripped my RB1 disc, imported the songs (using mono on an OS X machine, which worked perfectly) and got them installed. I've been playing them for the last few days without any problems, all of my purchased DLC is still there, etc... Then I got my TP1 and TP2 discs back from my brother (figured I might as well import the songs since I paid for the silly things), ripped them and put the songs on a new SD card. I ran the installer on that card, and that's where the problems started, when I restarted my Wii (I like to make sure there's no errant code floating around in the ether), instead of showing me the Rock Band 2 splash on the disc channel, it showed me the system update notification.

I tried deleting the RawkSD save info, running the patcher and reinstalling the songs and the same thing is still happening.

The only pre-system menu software I have running is BootMii (boot2), and I have a recent nand backup, so I'm not too concerned. If anyone can help, or has any ideas, I'm going to wait awhile before I restore the backup. It'd be nice if it were something simple, and if I figure it out in the meantime, I'll update this post with what I did to get it fixed.

Is there anyway in a future build when i "update SD save" to quickly add new customs that i can keep my scores for previous songs, they delete when i update, or is that not possible?
Also, when adding songs could the currently installed songs be greyed out, cus i forget which ones ive actually already installed and probably tick them again. That could just be me and the weed tho!!

Would it be possible for you to add something like "Last updated: *date/time*" to the main post?

That way we wouldn't have to keep looking through the latest pages in the thread to see if you posted saying you released a new build.

(This one actually has fixes to Aerosmith ripping, as well as two songs missing from Guitar Hero 3 rips)

First of all I would like to thank everyone who has worked on this for all of there hard work.
I selected the add blank drum track option, but the game still freezes when I try to play it on drums. I have tried to get several custom songs to work but they will only work on guitar. What should I do?

I had a buddy over earlier today, and we were having the same problem. I was trying to get in touch with him to see if he'd had any luck. I'll report back if I hear from him.
Drum customs seem to be a hit or miss. It looks like if they were made in FeedBack, they work out fine (I tried a bunch from the ScoreHero Rock Band thread). Frets on Fire drum customs sometimes seem to crash though.

Tip: If a song crashes and it says that your Wii memory is full, just run the RawkSD Installer on the Wii, hit Install, then hit OK directly after it. It'll erase the song from your NAND for you.

From what I have found, on the FoF Customs if you import the audio file into audacity and add a track of nothing but silence and export using advanced mixing options and export into three different channels and send the silent track to channel 3. Then when you are importing it into RawkSD do not check the add blank drum track option and be sure to click channel 3 under the drum tab.

That doesn't work as it crashes whether add blank drum track is checked or not.

After two days of messing with various solutions, I finally got rid of the "out of date" problem with my Wii. And I'm running a backup disc on system menu 4.0! If anyone had the same problem I did follow the ULTIMATE System Menu 4.0 Guide to learn how to launch backups from the disc channel. Thanks to everyone who helped make this program, it absolutely amazing and truly revolutionary!

Have you actually played RB2 before? Can you see the Rock Band 2 save game in the data management screen? You DO NOT need to have downloaded any songs.

yeah i play it a couple times a week.don't know whats wrong. my brother did this for rawk he installed the rawk installer for wii then the patcher then the ios37 that came with it then the patcher.

First off, thanks SO much for this program, the ability to import the tracks from RB1 and track packs is AWESOME.

I have a feature request. Is there any way to add the "Update SD Save" functionality in the Wii RawkSD program itself to avoid needing to remove the SD card, insert it in a PC and resinsert it in the Wii? I assume (though I may be wrong) that the program is just adding the customs from the special folder on the SD card to the RB2 save file or something like that?

Anyone got a guide for converting the three .bin files I exported from RB1 into an .iso?

EDIT: So, I combine the three files, and try to convert them through MagicISO and it just stays 0% and makes a bunch of noise.

1- Make a txt file.
2- Write copy /b 0.bin+1.bin+2.bin out.iso
3- Rename the extension (.txt) file to .cmd
4- BAM! RB1 iso.

Ohhhhh, I didn't think you copy into a different file extension! That makes it easier!

That will only work for windows users. I know there is a command that Mac OS X users can use, but I don't remember it at the moment.

Truly amazing work. Thank you all so much. I'll post my experience with RawkSD here for all to see with feedback and suggestions.

I own Rock Band 1, Rock Band 2, all the track packs (except AC/DC and Country
rolleyes.gif
) and have downloaded 21 free songs (the 20 promised for free + Still Alive), and purchased 9 songs in the music store. Up til now it was a huge disappointment and hassle to have to change discs to play the music I wanted! And I couldn't even make appropriate set lists (For example, putting all of my Red Hot Chili Peppers songs into one set list... one from RB1, one from RB2, a downloaded one, and a Track Pack song!).

Now this is within reach. I was using a 1 GB SD card to hold my 30 downloaded songs. Yesterday I went out and bought a 2-pack of 2 GB SD cards. I extracted the RB1 ISO from my disc via wifi to my computer and used RawkSD to get the songs. Popped all 63 (as you know, the Wii version has 5 bonus songs) onto one of the 2 GB SD cards... they all fit! With my 30 downloaded songs, too! Yeehaw!

Now I'm trying to do the Track Packs, too... I've had no problems, and space isn't an issue, per se.. but! I have some suggestions to make RawkSD an even better program. In the name of progress! Forward!
biggrin.gif

As you now know, I am using 2 2 GB SD cards... I wish I could see my downloaded DLC from the music store and manage it within RawkSD if possible. For example, I have my 30 downloaded songs on BOTH of my 2 GB SD cards... I did a copy/paste job on them so I could have the RawkSD installs, etc. (and since they were already blank). I would like to be able to delete all 30 of those downloaded songs off of my second SD card in RawkSD. I realize I could do this via the Rock Band game itself... and that's what I'll probably do in the meantime.

Speaking of deleting, it is very cumbersome to delete songs added to the SD card from RawkSD... I extracted my Track Pack Volume 2 songs today and accidentally prefaced them with (TP1) (as opposed to (RB1) or (TP2)). I had two options: delete all of the songs one-at-a-time-which-was-very-time-consuming-but-I'm-still-very-appreciative-of-your-efforts or edit the song info one at a time to change (TP1) to (TP2). I wish I could select multiple songs at once to delete. Editing multiple songs at once... not as huge a deal.

Also... I feel we as a community need to agree on naming conventions for the Track Packs. All seem to agree with using (RB1) followed by a space for their RB1 songs... could we agree to use the following for the others? These are just suggestions. Trying to help!
smile.gif

Track Pack 1 = (TP1)
Track Pack 2 = (TP2)
AC/DC = (ACDC)
Track Pack Classic Rock = (TPCR)
Country Track Pack (CTP)

Other things. When I was filling my 1 GB SD Card (before I purchased the 2 GB 2-pack) I didn't know how much would fit, so I just tried to jam all of RB1 on it. The program crashed (understandably, lol). Would it be possible to see how much free space is on the SD card in RawkSD? And to have some sort of... filling meter to know how much we can fit?

Also, I tested this earlier to see what would happen. I swapped my SD cards without running the RawkSD install to "install" the new songs... obviously it wouldn't let me play songs that really weren't on the card. It just sends you back to the main Rock Band 2 menu.

That being said, I enabled SD Card #2 (which has Track Pack 2 on it; #1 was previously working in there, which has my RB1 songs on it) and it erased all of the RB1 songs from the Quickplay Solo Tour mode, including scores (not a big deal, I'm not a score-whore). Would it somehow be possible for RawkSD to be able to manage multiple SD cards? Ideally, I'd like to be able to install a master list of songs onto RB2 even if the songs themselves are NOT on the SD card. That way, once installed, I can swap SD cards on the fly.

Once again, THANK YOU SO MUCH to ALL of those people involved with RawkSD! This post was not meant to be seen as a complaint! I am truly pleased with RawkSD as it exists now. I just thought I'd offer some constructive notes to help make it even better. Thank you for serving the community with your time and effort!

[Edit]One last note! I used RawkSD successfully yesterday using System Update 4.0u. I have had Homebrew Channel installed before that. Today I wanted to try out Punch-Out!! so I put the disc in and it wanted me to run a System Update from the disc. I did. RawkSD still works. Thought that might be helpful...[/Edit]

Most custom songs seem to freeze for me when loading. Imported songs work fine, but only 2 out of like 10 of the custom songs I've tried to install have worked.

Is it true that all customs must be on a single SD card? I had wanted to import my tracks from RB1 and all the track packs, and put them on various SD cards to keep the songs from artists together. However, I noticed that the only custom DLC listed was from the last card I ran an installation on, and if you have a different SD card in and pick the song, it hangs the game.

I have followed the steps correctly but i'm still having a problem. RB2 tells me i can't use my sd card and the sd card mode is disabled. What is the problem?

I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. I installed the patch and installed the songs, and everything seemed fine. Booted up RB 2 and the songs aren't there. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss a step. Anyone have any ideas?
