I am not sure I understand your question but the chip I posted is the one cited by the dev in their tweet.

I would like to add that there is still no certainty and the dev has since deleted their original tweet announcing this project and also hasn’t spoken of it since. If you want to buy that board, just know that there is a potential that the dev might not deliver.

Programming is just like tossing a few files on a usb-stick. You can use a mac, pc, android phone and also a raspbery pi.

By the way it's not a chip: it's a little programming board with usb-c based on the rp2040 chip.

i was under the impression that the rp2040 can be programmed via its usb connection directly (or is that just an exclusive micropython feature) ?

You place your files via usb on a onboard memory chip (this isn't integrated in the rp2040), on reset the rp2040 loads and runs this code.

if the Code gets released you can program it directly via USB, there is no programmer required to program the RP2040-zero.
