Well Race Driver: Create and Race, is out, and it feels just about right to me, so I'm probably going to be playing this one until codemasters releases the next one. It's just arcadey enough to deal with the digital controls, but a sim at heart.
I'm starting this topic up to share thoughts, questions, tips, friend codes, and all other things race driver.
I'll start off with a few basic tips:
Brake before entering a corner--this isn't need for speed here, 150mph entry=no turn.
every car handles differently especially when braking in the corner itself. Just be aware.
Do time trials. You get 250 points for breaking your own record and 10,000 more if it's a global top10 when uploaded
Use headphones when in hood view--there's no rearview mirror and this lets you know what's behind without looking
Get a rumble pack when in hood view. You may be on the grass, and not even know.
Try tapping the steering buttons when you don't want tires to go (ovals)
Skim the grass on the inside of corners to slow you a bit and bring the car around if you're a little fast--it's usually slower than doing it right, but better than leaving the track.
Oh, and does anybody know where the heck I find my friend code on this thing?
