Hmm, how about using wget (An open source, command like application, very tiny) to download the latest version of YSmenu from the site as well as the latest cheat file so the user doesn't have to manually? It would be very simple to do and make the whole process more automated.

And then extract the files as needed. I was tempted to add these modifications in myself and send it over to you but I haven't had the time.

You can't download Ysmenu from Yasu's website using an external link and he doesn't like people mirroring it elsewhere, so that's why downloading Ysmenu isn't an option.

before someone asks: using the referer option makes it look like he's visiting the website and then downloading the file (it tells the link he comes from that URI)

well i use wget on linux. im not sure what platform u using it on. windows command line or linux command line. wget is just an downloader. from what i understand the command "wget --referer=http://home.usay.jp/pc/etc/nds/ http://home.usay.jp/pc/etc/nds/YSMenu0810211800.zip" basically is just the same as clicking the link on yasu webpage.

Edit: ok i guess narin is on a windows platform since it says "c:\". Im not on my linux machine at the mo, but i remember linux dont name their drives that way.

Yes, I've been thinking about that as well. Downloading YSMenu is not really an option; Yasu probably won't like that. Downloading the cheat database might be an option. After all, it's pretty easy to add this. In the next version (the one with the GUI) I'll see if I can put an option in it to check for a new version of the cheat database. I should be an option though; people without an internet connection or with some kind of data limit should be able to use R4YSauto as well.

I'll try to contact Yasu and see if he minds if I put an option in R4YSauto which automatically downloads YSMenu, but I don't think he agrees.

Yes, as long as you don't use some kind of R4 clone that can't use the original R4 firmware, like the N5.

You don't need _DS_MENU.DAT and the _system_-folder from your SD-card anymore. Instead, copy the files from R4_custom_English to your SD-card. That's about it

You don't need it anymore, you don't need to keep it unless you want to use it again instead of YSMenu. But you could always redownload it if you'd want to do that.

Currently it's similar to the configuration utility. It doesn't support skins yet, but I did add a feature which can download the newest cheat database (along with an option to use another cheat database or don't use any cheat database at all). It's not complete yet, so I don't want the files to be public, but if some people would like to test it and say what they'd like to see improved I'd appreciate it.
