i don't think so (its fake). the Real R4 is here.
There's no original r4 cards compatible with DSi, go buy acekard2i or M3i0 if you want to buy flashcards for dsi

Unless it's made by the original R4 Team, any R4 is a fake. All DSi or SDHC R4's are fake.

Really not a good idea to order one of those. Thread wasn't worth the bump.

Any R4 with more than "R4 DS Revolution" is fake. This includes "Renovation", "SDHC", any "i" versions, any "upgrade", ANYTHING that's not just a plain R4.

For the scene, "fake" and "clone" mean that it's not an actual R4 card. Yes, it is still a flash card, but it's a shitty imitation. It will most likely NOT play any games that have been released recently (without getting a patch for those games).

We don't doubt that it's a working flashcart. We're just telling you it's most likely one of the shittiest ones you can get, because it's a knockoff clone of a badly-outdated cart.

IMO, Fake and Clone, in reference to flashcards, are two different things.


The R4's being sold at ShopTemp is a Clones.
It is the same hardware, can use the same software and functions just like a real R4.

The R4i's and R4SDHC's are FAKE.
They are not the same hardware, they cannot use the same software and their functionality is often different -- sometimes better, sometimes worse. They simply use the R4 name to sell their product.


I believe this would also make the R4i Ultra, which is a copy of the AceKard, a fake since (I believe) it does not have the same hardware and cannot use the same firmware unless it's cracked.

You can follow the link I posted above for the R4 which is a 1-to-1 clone of the original R4.


WoodR4 is almost as good as AKAIO. Not to say WoodR4 isn't good, it's just AKAIO is slightly better.
Even though they use the same images, AKAIO graphics look better and cleaner, WoodR4 has a 'grit' look to it.
But then WoodR4 has the option to turn off pulsing icons, which is a plus. And can use Favorites.
While I cannot speak for the build quality of the 1:1 R4 Clones, I can say that my AceKard, while sturdy enough, doesn't feel as good as my R4.

As someone who's owned a real R4 and an AceKard2i, I'd suggest the AceKard 2i which you can buy from ShopTemp.
But really... the choice is yours.

I also suggest the Acekard 2i from the shop twiz linked, it gets regular updates and can play games without needing a patch.
