I have a r4i that won't load firmware (the red one) i got the web site and it don't work white screen the pcv is orarnge and it has R4i LL XL on the contacts

you need to go to the website that is indicated on the cart itself (or the box you received it in)
then download the system file (probably coming as .zip or .rar), extract all of its content to the microSD card you got.
if it doesnt work, have this exchanged and get a DECENT card.

ive did that fist and the is like 10 diffent dat files so i cant figure out whitch one to use

sometimes its better not to be cheap and just save up the money for a decent cart thst has no clones

i don't ever get these but i had $5 left on my gift card and said what the hey give it a shot i normally just get AK im going to try new sd card im using a lexar 4gb try a sandisk or melt the card down.

i got it to work i renamed the r4i red file to .dat and it worked iits still shit

If it's still so bad, why don't you get my recommended flashcart from the best flashcart side I know? But a DSTWO off ShopTemp. No clones, not R4, no need for morning wood to fix games.
