I've just bought a new DSi XL, with a flashcard, the R4i GOLD, the only one I could find where I bought the console. I've downloaded the kernel from the website, and put some games in it, but when I turn on the DSi, it appears that a game called Star Wars: Lethal Alliance is in it, and when I press the button to start the game, an error message appears, telling me to look at the operations manual in a specific section. I looked for it, and it just explains how I put the game card in the console... So far, I've downloaded a lot of kernels, but none of them worked... Could someone help me, please? I'd really appreaciate, DSi XL is amazing.

I think you need to buy an R4i Gold XL or something. But you should just get a supercard 2 instead of one of those cheap r4 clones, your r4 clone won't even work with many games.

looks like your R4i gold is blocked
check what firmware you're using, is it 1.4.1??
what R4i gold do you have?
some have fix to bypass 1.4.1 and some don't

You should tell us the website on the package of your card.
It seems that your r4i gold is not the original one.
The r4i gold original's website is "www.r4ids.cn".
Have a look and have a check.

I don't really know the firmware I'm using, but I've really tested all of them. I guess the one that is currently in my card is the one from the website on the box, www.r4i-sdhc.com.au.

if it's the one with the red box, than it's not a r4i gold
and it looks like there no way to fix your r4i-sdhc, only way to fix it is to buy their new cart (version) which is 1.4.1 compatible
but if you you're gonna buy a new cart, buy something better, not a cheap r4 clone

3d printing is a fun, albeit sometimes challenging and frustrating (and expensive) hobby to get into

It was just an idea. I just want to make stuff.

@SylverReZ can get decent 3d printers for $150 and even less with black friday deals, doesn't take many orders from JLCPCB or PCBWay to make that worth it

@The Real Jdbye, That's why I said that a printer is a better option, because it doesn't require having to pay more money for each print.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i've seen some of the small anycubic resin printers for like 100 bucks on black friday

You can find cheap 3d printer kits you assemble yourself, less than $100. - ANET A8 as a good starter.

If you don't really need alot of stuff no real need to invest

Something like a cheap Sovol SV-06 could be a good starting point to see if you're into it without a huge financial investment @handy333
  • handy333 @ handy333:
sorry for the off subject comment but, this stupid thing didn't come with a micro hdmi.

Maybe something like a intro for training would do.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    oh god micro hdmi
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@BigOnYa, lmao please do not buy an Anet A8. Especially in 2025, but at all

  • handy333 @ handy333:
I'm most definitely getting that one by mistake

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
So glad type c replaced micro hdmi
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the anet seemed to be popular as i saw a lot of prints for mods/improvements and such specifically for that, but maybe there were just so many because it really needed those mods to be any good
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Lol, they not that bad. My first was a Anet A8, granted I ended up upgrading almost everything on it.
  • handy333 @ handy333:
I don't even know where to get an micro hdmi. I don't think I've ever seen one in real life.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i know very little about it outside of that but i really couldn't recommend saving $30 going with a brand like that over anycubic or elegoo which at least have a somewhat decent reputation
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
my cheapo chinese noname 3d printer was such a piece of crap i stopped using it and didn't touch 3d printing again for years until i got a new one, not worth ruining your first 3d printing experience for...
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Anet A8 was an... okay printer for its time like a decade ago. But it's got unreliable hardware and no thermal runaway protections built into the firmware, so while you'll *probably* be fine, if something goes wrong, you're looking at a fire.

Cheap printers have come a LONG way in the past 2 years
  • handy333 @ handy333:
Can I fit it on a basic table?
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you can fit it on an end table
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I refuse to spend more than say 50 bucks on a printer

    https://a.co/d/3mXgrEH lol everything but xbox
  • handy333 @ handy333:
    sounds good. I'm sold.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@handy333, yes something that is Sovol SV-06 / Ender 3 / Bambu A1 / Prusa Mk3/4 sized will fit on a desk or table
