Hello, I can't seem to update my r4i gold using the latest patch in their website... I followed all the steps: I formatted the memory card, downloaded the latest firmware, downloaded the latest patch. So then I opened the menu for the patch, then pressed KEY_A, but then "card check" would display "Fail".

By the way, I haven't updated my 3ds yet, it's still Ver. 4.3.0-9U. My r4i card is version "C".

Help please?

UPDATE: Um so I updated my firmware to 5.1.0-11U and now, unfortunately, the r4i gold doesn't work anymore.......... I think it's one of those old revicion "c" cards after all... sigh.

you can see 2 files in the update package. if you use a DSL to update, the file for DSL should be used.
the other one is used on 3DS/DSi.

when using DSL, there is a step to reject the card out and then reinsert it back to the console.
at this moment you can get the SD card out and only put the Flashcard back to the console.

that might work.

The problem is, I don't have a DSi or DSL, just the 3ds, which I am using for the update...

it should indeed be working on 5.1.0-10

the Older Rev C cards that got blocked
are either

if you applied the DSi 1.4.5 update
or

4.3.0-10 update

Hmm.. I wonder what the problem was... Maybe it works on 5.1.0-10, but not on 5.1.0-11U?
When I tried to load the flash cart, it displays this message:
"An error has occurred. Please hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details."
