Hacking R4i DSi XL 3D

I have a R4i DSi XL 3D card...the box it came in had pictures from the 'Avatar' movie on it. The card is red and have v1.41 on it.
The web site for the firmware www.r4idsxl.com never worked from the get go...but from here I found out it was a clone of the r4-king. I was able to get it working for a while with their firmware.
So to the point...
I've done some searching and tried some different things...but I can't get the card going again. I know the card is crap...but its what I have now. Is there anything to do to get it working?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a DSi XL and the version is 1.4.3u. Is that my problem?
I have the correct firmware for the card...it just doesn't work anymore. When I try to start it I get "An Error has occurred...blah blah blah..."
Is there something else I can do to get it to work again?

Yes you updated your DSi that's your problem. Your card will only work with DSi below 1.4.1

Your card still works just not with your DSi XL.

I recommend this card for you.

It runs wood firmware which is updated regularly by YWG.
