Hacking R4i DS Gold Upgrade Help! Please!

Hi all,

Very frustrated user here

I have googled, read here and everywhere and just can't get my head around the information.

I have two of the above cards (site is http://r4ids.cn/) and don't know how to upgrade to the latest 4.0B1 firmware. It only comes with a launcher.dat file and when I overwrite the original file on the SD card, the 3DS refuses to go into the "mode" which allows you to play homebrew/backups. However if I put the old launcher.dat file, it works fine. I'm having trouble launching the newer backups and not sure what to do.

Your help is always appreciated.

should just work when you copy the new launcher.dat over, try backing up all your SD contents up and formatting your 3DS's SD card

Did you find a fix?

I have 2 x 3ds and 2 sets of r4igold deluxe aswell and I get the same issue with this new firmware 4.0b1. Just using firmware 2 as v3.3b is available for download

I have formatted the SD cards as well and copied the wood software back on aswell. Still not working on v4 but v2 is ok

Can anyone help?

Well I managed to fix the issue - it was my fault using an old version of winzip to uncompress the rar download. Once i used WinRAR it was ok.
