You've gotten my other stage 2 launchers to work but it shows error has occurred when using TWL Slot-1 Launcher?

That means your flashcart's internal rom is using an incompatible arm7 code/ram entry address and TWL_FIRM blocked it from booting.

You will need a stage2 Launcher to launch it. Try my TTDS Launcher. (you will need to rename the kernel DAT file on your card's MicroSD card to TTMenu.dat if it isn't already using that file name).

If that doesn't work, then use my R4i Gold Launcher as that will work with some of the TTDS clones that didn't work with the official TTDS Launcher. The R4i Gold launcher expects the kernel DAT on MicroSD to be R4.dat by the way.

Thanks for the reply man. I got it tested today and none of these alternatives worked. Also I renamed the _DS_MENU.DAT to both R4.dat and TTMenu.dat, but had no success. Also I have a DS Lite here here and when I inserted the modified kernel files (R4 and TTMenu) it only lead to a black screen, while with the right name on the files it shows me the whole menu. I guess my card isn't a clone of these after all, or I may be messing up with something on the kernel files...

Has anyone tried to get this to work with the M3 DS Simply?

EDIT: NVM got it to work. New question is there a way to for the top screen to stretch? Also is there a hot key in R4 wood to exit out of DS games back to the DS Game selection menu?

My R4 showed up today. But my attempts to get my 4GB MicroSD to work with it (by shrinking partition size down to 2GB) failed. So I have to get a real 2GB card to use with it. Until then, I can't really do anything with it. Probably won't be able to order one till after the 1st of April.

what firmware used to r4 original?, wood 1.62?
Whoops late reply. Yep 1.62 Wood or original R4. The menu is ultra basic, but really who cares it's nice to not have to switch DS cards for your different games. To get it working right, I have A9LH on my N3DS with patched TWL_FIRM. I tried at first with patched TWL_FIRM on my O3DS w/emunand (Cakes) and kept getting black screen to power off. I kept checking through what I could, and didn't make any headway. Needless to say, it was infinitely less painful on my N3DS setup.

No working menus = It's not really working.

I think the R4 may have contact issues with certain models of the 3DS. Are you using an n3DS? I noticed mine needs to be pushed in all the way before it will show up in DevMenu. (but I don't have a compatible MicroSD card for it right now, so not sure if this would be normal behavior for this card. But since WoodDumper can't init the card unless I had it pushed in all the way, I'm guessing it's a legit contact issue with the n3DS slot)

So you may need to put a couple slips of paper in between the R4 (on the label side) and the slot to make it contact better. Obviously holding the cartridge in all the way would be uncomfortable so that's what you'd have to do.

But yeah, test it by pushing it all the way in as if you were going to disengage the slot and eject the cartridge. But hold it in. While doing that boot WoodR4. If it then works. Then it's a contact issue with the slot. The slot's design has changed over the years compared to the original DS/DS Lite, so if you tested it as working on a DS/DS Lite, it wouldn't be entirely a valid comparison. So check to see if it's not getting along with your 3DS slot by what I mentioned above.

The people who have reported it working may be using older models of the 3DS where the slot is a tighter fit with the R4. So they have no contact issues.
